As a young Centauri and a member of the
Couro Prido, Londo was always looking for some way to prove his worth to the
world. This led him to swear that he would die on his feet doing something noble
and brave. After one failed marriage to a Centauri dancing girl, Londo was left
to enter three arranged marriages, and just like every Centauri, believes that
he has seen his own death in a vision, and that it will be at the hands of
G'Kar.
In 2256 Londo was sent to Babylon 5 with orders to make
alliances with other races. On the station, Londo has had many conflicts with
the Narn Ambassador, most of which were just another way of venting his anger at
the Narn race. The year 2258 saw a visit by a mysterious man called Morden, and
shortly afterwards saw a secret alliance with the ancient Shadow race. In 2259
Londo made a further alliance with Lord Refa who shared his hope for glory to
return to the Centauri. Just before the death of the Centauri Emperor Turhan,
Londo was instucted that it was time to do something to make them stand out from
the other factions, and asked the Shadows to attack a Narn outpost in Quadrant
14. Following the attack the Narn declared war on the Centauri. When the war
drew to a close Londo was there at the bombing of the Narn Homeworld, and was
later hailed as the main architect in the victory. At the end of 2259, when Kosh
came out of his Environment Suit, Londo was the only alien present who did not
see Kosh's true form and could not understand why. In 2260 Londo decided to
break his alliance with the Shadows and met with Morden, who stated he would
honor the request on the condition that the Centauri did not enter a specified
Quadrant of space set aside by the Shadows. Throughout his reign of terror and
corruption Londo has lost many things, including the friendship of Garibaldi and
the respect of Vir. |
