This is the place where you get your chance to say absolutely anything you want. YES, anything at all, I couldn't care less. So come on write to me now: Dan Wood 3 Cavendish Drive Northlands Darlington DL1 2GQ Right, now that that's out of the way let's hear what you have been saying over the past 2 months... /\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\ BAZ & ARNIE? EEEEH! Dear Mr Wood, I feel I must protest strongly to the article in the last edition of Page by Mr Finen, and Mr Kelly (We prefer to call them Baz & Arnie - DAN) . I feel that the content of the article was highlt unsuitable for a quiet computer related magazine like your own. Please take note of this and get rid of them, then please notify me by post to let me know that they shall not be appearing again and I will start to send off for Page again if you apoligise properly. If you want me to continue to get Page you would also edit some of the letters sent in by some of your stupid readers who think it is big to use rude words or sexual conatations. So much for you being an editor, you should pull your socks up a bit and then you may get a few more readers who are satisfied. Yours J.HOLDSWORTH, NEWTON AYCLIFFE Dan says... I'm sorry you felt like that about the article. The guys were really just having a muck about. I personally think that you have a bit of cheek. There was a clear warning at the beginning of the article notifying people who are prude not to read on, also it was mentioned in the letter enclosed in your envelope. So don't come on here and slag off some thing that you chose to read even though we warned people like you not to read the article. This reminds me of the time that two old ladies went up to Doctor Johnson, who for the less educated was the writer of the first dictionary, and congratualted him on not using any rude words in the book. And he replied to them: "And how, do you know?" Evidently they had been looking for them. Finally do not threaten me with "I won't get Page anymore". Good! It's your loss. Any way I don't want you to get Page anymore, you are not allowed to be part of our group. I have taken your name off the users file and you are banned from it. I don't want cocky little turds like you reading our magazine. We have plenty of satisfied readers and Baz & Arnie are two people I know and are cool guys, and they say what they feel, and since this is free... Go and get something like PC User if you want a boring, sad, and pathetic read. You sad, SAD thing. ON THE OTHER HAND! Hi Dan, Just a quick note to let you know that Page is really great and I think Baz & Arnie really lighten up the place. Well done! P.S. Oh and thanks for the help on the game last issue. ANDREW STEPHENSON, DARLINGTON Dan says... You're becoming a bit of a regular now aren't you Andy. Well thanks a lot for you letter. It makes a change to hear from some one with some taste not like those sad gits like the letter above yours. And about the game, don't mention it, we will help anyone who needs help on a game if we can. Drop us a line then check out Micro-Tips. See ya! OOH MIKE! Dan, OOhhhhh! I think that Mike has the most sexy, wonderful writing style ever. And I hope he is OK in hospital. Pass this on, and this letter for Baz & Arnie. Thanx JEAN HEFFAN, STOCKTON MORE THING IS SHIT! Dear Dan The Man, The more thing that you used last disk was shit. Please go back to PPMore or use my best one, Much-More. I have enclosed a disk with it on and I expect you to use it. NOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! GEORGE DEFFER, GATESHEAD Dan says... Oooooohhhh! Scary! I have been experimenting with diferent text viewers to find out which one is the best. Much-More isn't one of my best viewers so I have gone back to PPMORE. AMIGAS RUUUUULLLLEEEEE!!! Dear Mr Woo (uuuh? - DAN) I have been an avid reader of Page since issue 1 and I think it is great. Just one note about the ideal word processor you asked about. Well the Amiga rules so how about a built in game to play whilst wating for it to print out. Also we would like support for colour prining and different tunes to be played in the back ground whilst working. GEMMA BLACKBURN, MIDDLESBROUGH Dan says... Well I just put a CD on in the background on Workbench using the PD program CD-PLAY when writing articles for Page. I have to use the 1.3 A500 with the A570 which is quite good. As for the other suggestions, thanks, I will pass your ideas on to Digita. Have a free copy of Amiga Pengo Game. I LOVE PENGO!! Hey Danny Boy! How about sending me a copy of Amiga Pengo for free?! JIM SEYMAN, DARLINGTON Dan says... Send me a disk and an SAE and I'll gladly send you a copy. Big demand for this game eh? \\//\\//\\//\\\//\\\//\\//\\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\\//\\//\\//\\ STAR LETTER FREE COPY OF AMIGA PAGE WINNER! Dear Daniel, I have owned an Amiga since the A1000 came out in 1985 and now I own a 8M A3000T and a BJ600 Colour Bubblejet printer from Canon. I love my system and have just upgraded to Workbench/Kickstart 3.1. What I want to know is why isn't the Amiga used in offices and printing places. It is every bit as capable as the PC and it is a much better system. Workbench is a real dream and Windows is really poor. I prefer the WIMP system on the Apple Lisa to Windows personally and that is not that good. On Windows you have to install everything on Hard Drive which means the PC cannot be run from floppy where as there are loads of packages that can be run from floppy on the Amiga. And the Amiga is so great as everything can be controlled by the Workbench. On Windows if you insert a disk do you think it comes up as a little Icon on the window and then you can access everything on it? NO! You have to go into DOS and read the disk then install it and go back into the slow loading Windows system and click a couple of pretty Icons and then it quits and goes back into DOS to load it up. The Amiga does away with all this by making the Workbench system and the CLI system totally interactive. The PC owners deserve that pile of steaming horse crap, if that's all they can see don't let them have the pleasures of a totally multi-tasking and interactive plus user friendly operating system. DANIEL ADDISON, PETERBROUGH //\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\///\\//\\//\\ LOONY TUNES! Dear Daniel, I am just writing to you to let you know that I think that your new theme tune is great. I have kept it on all the way through reading Page and I want to put it on tape and use it on my hospital radio show in Middlesbrough. I was just wondering if you would allow me to do this. Also I bought the PD Vol II and I think that song number 2 is slightly better than the one that you chose, but never mind. I love them both. They rave! SAMANTHA MITCHINSON, MIDDLESBROUGH Dan says... Sure. Go ahead and use our song if you want. The songs name by the way is Echoing just for reference. If you want the address of the creator then load it into Protracker of some thing else like that and check out the sample names. The songs are all PD so you can do with them what you please. COMMODORE'S DEAD TOY , VISITING.. it?! (God! :-\ RICK) Dan, I know I should really have sent this to Rick (WHY 8-O - DAN!!!!!!) because it concerns the CDTV. Also I wasnt really sure where it will go in Page so I just say this. I have recently spilled a cup of orange juice over my A570 CD drive. It was a pure foolish accident and I was wondering if my warranty will cover this. If not is there anyway it could be repaired? GEORGE WILSON, LINGDALE Dan says... NO!!! There is absolutely no way your warranty will cover this now. But if you have house insurance then this might. Just say that you have accidently damaged a peice of computer equiptment. They will give you the money. This happened to a mate of mine and funnily enough they didn't even come round to check :'-). But I doubt that you wil be able to find another A570. I have rang around almost every computer shop I know and they don't have any, mail order companies also are out of stock. I bought Silicas last one. Sorry! CRAP QUESTIONS Dan, Do you know what computer (PD) game has been released recently that is on a movie. YOU BETTER GET IT RIGHT. Some One Trendy, Somewhere Dan says... Come on! What kind of name is Trendy when you sound very sad writing to me asking me questions like that! I don't have a clue what you are talking about either? Maybe TRON the PD game? I haven't a clue, write again and give me more info, SEX, WHHOOOOO Dan, In last disks Startup it said that us North-East people are supposed to get the most sex in the country. Well if that is true I'd hate to live in the south! BOB DAVIES, WHITBY ROBBERS!!!! Mr Daniel Wood, PIRATES ARE NOT GREEDY. IT IS THOSE GREEDY BASTA*DS WHO CALL THEM SELVES SOFTWARE COMPANIES. BRING DOWN THEIR BLOODY STUPID PRICES AND WE WILL BUY. ANON, EAGLESCLIFFE Dan says... Do not press so hard on the paper anon. Right, and finally today.... PETER!!! HELLO AGAIN SWEETIES!! Danny Boy, How ya doing. I know how much you hate me to death (No I don't - I hate you more than that! :-) - DAN). Well I'm back. I want a cheat for the Jemsoft game GOBLIN PROBLEM on the C+4. I wrote last disk to ask for the SpaceIII cheat on the Speccy which I have been asking for since 1982!!! You finally gave it to me so now I want this one, and if you don't give me it I will write in every issue (again :-( - DAN) until you give me it!!! See ya around! Still got those AmigaTRECK articles? PETER COLE, NEWCASTLE Dan says... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT YOU AGAIN!!!!! Oh well. You're not gonna get it, nyyya nyyya nyyya nyyya nyyyyaaaaaaa! How did you find me again? I didn't do it ya know! Well to shut you up for a while I have dug out the AMIGATREK series, and have had a few chuckles reading this 6 part series. Good idea, what a night that was... eeeeh! Bye! HOW MUCH MORE? Dear Dan, Why the constant change of Text Viewers in Page? It gets on my nerves. We just get used to one viewer and it's method of viewing, then you go and change it to another one entirely. Stick to MuchMore, I like it. BETTY ELLIOT, COWDEN Dan says... We are experimenting with different text viewers to see which one is the easiest to use and which takes up the least disk space. We used PPMORE for the first few issues, but this has a lot of features like print which cannot be used from Page anyway, and it uses the Powerpacker library and our files are no longer powerpacked (can't be arsed to do it) so it only takes up more room. We now are trying LESS which is a very small (5K) viewer and has only up, down and quit. All text viewers basically have the same system anyway thick head, you press space for more and the backspace key for the previous page. Much More is bigger than PMORE, and the crappy control system does my head in, pressing the mouse is no good, and it opens it's own screen. I think we will stick to LESS from now on. ---- And that's it. Write to me now to be in the next issue: Dan Wood 3 Cavendish Drive Northlands Darlington Co Durham DL1 2GQ Oh Hang on! I'm not here next disk. Ricky dearest (Oh I never knew you were like that - RICK) (Shut it - DAN) will be here next disk doing this section. So write to him. But address your letters to me other wise I don't think he will get them. So stick my name on the envelope but his on the letter inside. Here he is.. Hello Everyone! How are you? Well we can have a great gossip next disk, write to me about whatever you bloody well want! Dan will be off in the sunny island of Majjjjjjorrrrcaaaaa. But knowing him he'll sit inside on his own watching TV... Dan- ASSS IFFFFFF! I will be out hitting the clubs with all the women crowding round me while you sit here doing my job. Good eh? Rick - All you can hit is a club. Dan - I can't believe you just said that! :-)) Rick- Yes, well ahem! I'd rather be in front of my Amiga thank you very much! (oooh I've upset him now! ;-) - DAN, YESSSS!) Silly bugger. Well I will be here in the next disk, with an even better place where I will chat with you more. Bye bye! By the way we have a new addition to the team next ish, Nick is joining, so we will Nick and Rick here next disk. Phew! Dan - BYE BYE! ----PAGE
