This program will perform 10,000 iterations of some selected groups of 68000 instructions whilst using AmigaDOS's DateStamp time function to record how many ticks it took to complete. The Timed Duration is then compared against two known prestored times, one for a stock out of the box A2000 Amiga, and one for an A2620 equipped A2000 (or A2500) Amiga. A relative comparison is calculated and displayed. This program contains a benchmark that has been written to try and test memory performance as well as processor performance. It does this by having loops slightly bigger than the '020 or '030 cache (but not a 68040) That way, the processor will need to fetch from RAM and it will highlight deficiencies in some manufacturers' 68020 boards that rely on benchmarks optimised to fit into the '020 cache. Do not read two much into these benchmark figures... they are for comparisons between Amiga to Amiga, and are not worth likening to Dhrystones, Whetstones or any other stone for that matter. It is compatible with its contemporaries, but at least 10 times faster than the fastest competition.
