You've received this newsletter because your name somehow got on my list of
people who have a Commodore Amiga Computer, and are involved with Amateur
Radio.

Purpose: The purpose of this newsletter is to provide Amigan/Amateurs a
place to disseminate information and public domain software which is of
interest to the group.  Often, people miss out on using capabilities of their
computers simply because they don't communicate with other users.  Since we
are involved with communication as another hobby (Ham Radio), we should be
good at this !

Direction: Due to posting messages on BBS's and a notice in QST's Online
column, I currently have 20 people on this mailing list, which is a bit
too many to write individually to, much of the content would be the same
anyway.  So, this newsletter connects us all.  The direction it takes is up to
everyone.  If no response is gotten from this mailing, maybe that would mean
there aren't enough Amiga's out yet to start a Amiga/Radio group, and we'll
wait awhile till the number of Amiga's increases.  But, I think there are
enough of us to at least get slightly organized.  If you want to send Amiga
tips, hints, public domain Radio related software you've written or
acquired, schematics of Amiga projects you've wired up, ect... I'll pass them
along to the group in a future newsletter.  Software will be put on a disk
of Amiga/Radio programs that is available to anyone. If you know other Amigan
/Amateurs who did not receive this newsletter, they can drop me a note with
their name and address, to get on the mailing list.

Amiga Morse Code: I have seen and used 2 public domain Morse Code training/
quiz programs, both in AMIGABASIC.

Amiga Packet News: The Amiga is a wonderful computer to use on packet,
because of it's multitasking ability.  Randy Lilly (N3ET) and I have
successfully passed ASMB and BASIC source code, object code, and digitized
speech, along with many text messages, using the Packet Radio mail
forwarding system.  Randy has written a handy background packet terminal
program, and has a Packet BBS in the works.  I've chatted with Amigan/
Amateurs as far as the Midwest via packet, but there must be some West Coast
Amiga Packet activity.

Amiga RTTY & Logging: Allan Ebert (VE3AXV) has written a terminal program,
and a logging program, which he uses during contests. Bill Crews (K4ZDT) is
using Personal Superbase database to maintain his log. Superbase can also be
used while contesting for dupe checking and score calculation.
