BREAKAWAY SOFTWARE PRESENTS FEEDING FRENZY BY Peter Gage (C) 1989, Peter Gage and Cornerstone Software. ALL Rights Reserved 12827, E 27th Spokane, WA 99216 . (509)926-8010 Thank you for Downloading (or coming across some other way) FEEDING FRENZY! This is an action game done with the DIRECTOR from Right Answers Group. THE OBJECT: The object of the game is for you, The Feeding Frenzy Player, to catch the blood as it drops from the spouts above you. If you fail to do so, the Shark below you will soon be whipped up into such a FEEDING FRENZY that he will jump out of the pool and eat you. This of course would be losing the game. You can successfully deter the Feeding Frenzy by scoring 99 points. This of course would be winning the game. OPTIONS : You have 2 possible difficulty settings: Hard and Easy. Thats simple enough. DIRECTIONS : Control of Yourself. You have 2 possible directions. Left and Right. You move these directions by pressing either the < or > key. These keys are located right above your Space Bar, to the right. NOT THE ARROW KEYS. The BLOOD. The blood will fall randomly from the 5 spouts above you. How fast it falls and how often it speed up depends on your score and The difficulty level you chose. As you catch blood your score accumulates. If the blood should reach the shark pool, the Frenz-O-Meter(TM) will rise, getting ever closer to a FEEDING FRENZY! The FISH. Occasionally a fish will fall from a spout. If the fish is allowed to fall into the SHARK pool it will cause the FRENZ-O-METER(TM) to fall one degree. This is because the shark is slightly relieved of his frenzy by the food. You receive no points for catching a fish. The ANVIL. Occasionaly an anvil will fall from a spout. It is a good idea to allow it to fall into the pool. If you do catch the the anvil it will knock you into the shark pool and end your game. You are not penalized for the anvil falling into the pool as sharks are not partial to anvils. The FRENZ-O-METER (TM) . This is your gauge of just how frenzied that darn shark is. If the Meter should reach the top, the shark has reached a FEEDING FRENZY and you are about to be eaten. The SCORE BOARD. This is pretty obvious, but I thought I would mention it because it looks nice. Throughout the game you may begin asking yourself these questions: Why are there spouts dripping blood into a shark pool? Why am I standing on little platforms trying to catch these drops? How does the Anvil fit through the spouts? How did the Anvil get there in the first place? How did my hair get like that? How long can he drag out these directions? How do I quit this game? The answer to these questions is simple: Thats the way it is. Oh, and by clicking the left mouse button. The Reason: I wrote this game as a late night inspiration (Inspiration?). I was working on my forthcoming game, "CATACOMB", when about 5 hours of work got erased by some quirk of fate. I was quite frustrated with that game when >Whap<. It hit me. The FRENZ-O-METER(TM) was born. This game is being distributed as MY-Ware(TM). I am not charging anything for it and hope that you find hours (days!) of enjoyment out of it. I am keeping all rights to the pictures and the program as well as the game idea (your all jealous, right?). Feel free to upload FEEDING FRENZY all over. However, please make sure that all the files are intact (listed above). This game can be put on a P.D. disks provided I am notified first and no more than $5.00 is charged per disk. Finally: If you would really like to send me some money for this game I certainly would not complain. Consider it a contribution to my "faulty monitor" fund. If you do send me $5.00 or more I will put you on the list to receive my next game , CATACOMB, when it is finished. It will be a full graphics adventure with animation and sound. It will fill one disk. Your $5.00 will guarantee that you receive a copy and save you the trouble of downloading it and then setting it up. Thats really not too bad of a deal. For anything $10.00 or over I will also include the script to these 2 games. It seems pretty legible to me, but then again, I wrote it. the scripts do have plenty of notes though. I would appreciate any comments and please let me know if you find any bugs. You can reach me at different BBS's around the country or at my address given at the top of this file. Hope you enjoy the game. Remember : Be on the look out for CATACOMB. soon to be at BBS's everywhere!!!! BREAKAWAY SOFTWARE. THE ARCADE DIVISION of CORNERSTONE SOFTWARE. 1989.
