c03It's  eastern  holidays  again, and of
course  yet another c02Gatheringc03 party in
Norway.  10 o'clock Wednesday the 26th
of  March the doors opened and a bunch
of   dedicated  Sceners  entered.   As
usual  it's  hard competition to get a
good place to settle during the party.
But  this  year  it's  seems like some
groups  didn't have to find a table in
the  main  hall  like  all the others.
No,  we  quickly  noticed  that groups
like c02The Black Lotusc03 (TBL) and c02Essencec03
for   instance   got  their  own  room
located  behind  the  tribunes in nice
and f4quiet surroundings.f1

The  selected  groups  which  were  so
lucky  to get a room didn't JUST get a
lousy  room.   The  room  offered some
special    features    like    fridge,
microwave, internal telephone etc.  It
gave    the   groups   present   other
advantages   as   well,   like   quiet
environment.   The  members  of  those
groups  could  also sleep there, smoke
and   drink   which  gives  a  lot  of
pleasures.

Well,  getting  an  own room away from
the other 3300 participants may not be
that  special,  it has happened before
and  will  probably happen again.  But
getting  a  room  was  not  all  these
f4specialf1  Sceners  got,  they were also
let  in for c01freec03 according to rumours.
Yes,  some  famous  Sceners  from some
famous   groups  didn't  have  to  pay
anything  while  the  rest  had to pay
300,-  NOK  (50,-  US Dollars) just to
enter  the  convention.   I'm not just
talking  about  the  mentioned  groups
above,  but  also  members  from other
teams  were  let  in  for  free is the
jungle  word saying.  According to the
organizers  the  reason for letting in
some  'VIS's  for  free were that they
should  attract  more  Sceners  to the
party.   How  can this be?  90% of the
people  present  at  c02Gathering'97c03  are
surely  not  into  the Amiga scene and
know  these VIS's.  This year I'm sure
that  almost  everybody  are PC users.
So  what's  the  point?   Even  if all
present  here were into the cool Amiga
Scene,  I doubt very much that someone
would  visit  c02TG'97c03  just  because the
best  group  at the moment, c02TBLc03, would
be here for example.

Why  do the organizers give advantages
to the elite?  Why do some Sceners get
special treatment?  Is it because they
fall  down  and  cry if they don't get
own  room, own c02VIPc03 entrance and a sign
on the door telling 'staff only'?  Are
TBL  members  for instance so c02arrogantc03
that  they  have  to  sit  isolated in
their  own  room  during  the complete
party?   I  can't  tell.   But it's at
least a fact that some groups are more
important   for  the  organizers  than
others.   What  other favours are they
getting?   Free  food?   Fixed compos?
Only  the  organizers can tell really.
At  least  it sucks.  I only hope it's
rumours  and not true that some didn't
have  to  pay anything to enter TG'97.
It's  really  hard  getting  anyone to
comment on this.

I'm a fucking c02Godc03 for crying out loud,
I   should   get  an  own  room...   I
shouldn't  have  to  pay  anything  to
visit  TG,  I should have been brought
to  the  party in a rented private jet
and   welcomed   at  TG  when  walking
through  the  entrance  door  on a red
carpet...   I'm c02Zeroxc03, I'm Zerox...  I
deserve  to  be treated like the other
Gods...    even  c02Typhoonc03  got  an  own
sleeping room!  Why not me?  WHY???

As  nice  men  dressed  in white suits
take  c02Zeroxc03  away the Scene wonders if
the  organizers  could  have  done any
better.
