Read the f3b b f1news! f3b b b daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaae f1c04 IGELITOO, A CZECH IN THE PRAIRIE c02 by RokDaZone & Trauma/Royal c03From the upstreaming nation of the Czech Republic a lot of talented young souls have jumped on the rolling surfboard of medial madness called computing. After the first succesful attempts to stun the international Scene especially on the graphical sector from 1992 on, there is now a young and dynamic Sceners troup on their way to release their first game, as we already have indicated in Generation issue 22. The name of the group is c02Czex (Entertainment Software)c03, who also earlier have made themselves a name in the Scene by various releases. After our request, the project gets revealed as being an PC and Amiga based adventure game called c02f2Igelitouf1c03, with a small loan at c02f2Vinnetou by Karl May. c03f1Still, the Amiga version is only 80% for sure, although every single pixel of the graphics - made SVGA (640x480/256 colors) - as well as the music are made on Amiga. There are already now about 80 backgrounds in the making and this surely does neither include digitized or rendered graphics nor raytraced animations. Everything will be fully handdrawn. PC's are used only for programming the engine, which will offer the following abilities: The engine offers: f2c04- Masking of endless number of levels (the character is able to move in a front/behind situation through many parts of the background picture) - Definite perspective (the engine changes the proportions of every character / item according to the perspective) - Smooth zooming of every character when moving through the Z-axis - Sound system, supporting the best soundcards on PC (SoundBlaster, 16, PRO, AWE32), Gravis Ultrasound...) - FastRAM mixing replay routines on Amiga (4 channel music and 2 channel samples) f1c03The team still is working on the engine and the animations nowadays, but the first version of PC demo already is out. This first preview has been sent to companies like c02Interactive c03and c02Virgin c03for information purposes lately. f4"Virgin's feel interested and asked me to send them full version of the demo via smail. We will have to finish it soon (I hope it's done around Xmas)." f1c01 THE GAMEPLAY c03The main screen is divided into three parts. The upper third contains a map of the whole gamefield, the middle part is the background and within the lower part one may find options and an inventory. This on the first sight strange setting up has its deeper sense as c02Mario Zavodnik c03(Gfx/Sfx) knows to tell: f4"We were already sick of those games where you still have to press a lot of buttons to see a map or the inventory. Therefore we decided to place everything on the same screen." f1The player will be able to control two characters at the same time - c02Igelitou c03and c02Old Secondhand. c03According to Karel May's books, there also appear characters like c02Sam Frenchkissc03, c02Hi-Ta-Chi c03and so on. As one can clearly see from this, the game is not supposed to take itself too serious, which means that each player is rather wanted to laugh loudly from the beginning till the very end of the game than putting strenous gameplay to reach the end of the game as fast as possible. Therefore will, e.g. every single background include one or more jokes. c01 THE CZECH INDIANS c03The screenplay, graphics, animation is made by Marek Zavodnik (c02Trauma/Royal & Phuture303c03), the PC programmer is Ludek Rolecek (c02Intie/Ex-Czexc03), the Amiga code will be done by c02Pavel Strejcek c03and c02Petr Uttendorfskyc03, the music and sound composed by Marek Zavodnik. The minimum configuration will be an Amiga 1200 with 4MB fast RAM and - as it will be delivered on CD-Rom, a CD-Romplayer and a hard drive would do perfect. Recommended will be a 030/50MHz and a multisync monitor for the better look. The PC one will be 386DX/4MB RAM.
