hpf1s3c04 CODERS PRESENTATION OF AZURE c03 by Terrox/Session c02Generation has contacted some of the leading coders in the Scene, some has sort of left the Scene while others are still active. This is an introduction of the coder c03Azure of Artworkc02: f2 Name: c03Tim Boeske c02 Alias: c03Azure c02 Group: c03Artwork c02 Machine: c03Amiga1200T040/40Mhz/ 16mb/2.1Gig Pentium 150 (2x75 :) ) 40mb, 3.2gig c02 Age: c0319 c02 Sex: c03Male c02In Scene since: c03Amiga scene since 1992 c02 Occupation: c03Student c02 Answered: 100% of the questions Amiga or PC: No entire preference f1c04 OPINIONS AND HISTORY c02Which coder-production(s) have you been involved with? f4c03Most of the artwork demos and Intro like "The Gate","Phi","dawn" etc.. And all Bizarre arts produktions like "Television" and "zimbabwe" f1c02Who did you work with, and how did you felt the cooperation? f4c03Since I am in Artwork I work in a good cooperation with Fiver2. We created most of the Artwork demos/Intros. f1c02Imagine you are going to make a demo for The Gathering this Easter. You can f2freely f4pick two coders, two graphicians and one musician. Who do you choose and why? f4c03Of course I would only pick some of the Artwork members, since there are less problems in communication etc.. Hey! I won`t say, whom because I think that is pretty unfair ... f1c02Will this be an Amiga or a PC demo? f4c03The question should be "would" I guess.. Well, probably an Amiga-Demo, but PCs are nice too, since they give you the speed , amigas lack .. f1c02What can be said about the Scene for 2-3 years ago, and the Scene today? Has it changed positive or negtaive, do you think? f4c03I think the scene was far better two years ago. There were far more talented sceners, the overall qualitiy of the demos was better and the scene was bigger. f1c02What is your favourite coding program? f4c03Genam f1c02What is your favourite coding tool? f4c03AgaIff f1c02Who tought you coding? f4c03Me :) f1c02What is the most interesting effect you have done so far? f4c03Probably a highly advanced gouraud-shader with lots of maths involved, but never used. f1c02What is the hottest effect you have seen so far? f4c03Gforce was really shocking, when I saw it for the first time.. The shadow-routines in "machines of madness" (ASM96 PC-demo-winner) are pretty nice, too .. f1c02Who is your favourite coder(s) and why? f4c03Mike Abrash and all the others at ID. They did W3D, DOOM and QUAKE. They have not been beaten since 3 years :) f1c02Have you been asked to code for a game-project? f4c03Yes. But I didn`t have the time to take the job , because I had to visit school. f1c02What is your comment on the effects shown in demos today, in 1996? f4c03Mostly non-innovative, PC-oriented. Most people don`t even have a clue, what they are doing mathematically. Everyone is trying to copy PC-Effects. There are some Milestones to reach for every coder, like Phong-shading, envi-mapping etc. Everyone os trying to reach this level and is so doing nothing really innovative. I think it was better in earlier times, when an Effect was done, because it looked nice and not, because you just wanted to show, that you are on the same level as others.. f1c02What is your worst experience concerning coding so far? f4c03An HD-Crash in NOV96, which killed some sources, like my new 4k-intro ..
