In case of 1. being true, stop reading now and go do something else.

In case of 2. being true, well good for you! Please keep reading and read
through ALL of this text file, as you will be given lots of vital information
that is absolutely necessary for you to enjoy this disk.

                             .oO______________Oo.

MIDI music is a lot of fun! You can take a well known tune, and play it
through your own synth setup at home. You can experiment with it, change the
instruments, change the speed, move parts around, even change the time
signature. (Have you tried playing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in 1 1/2
times the speed, and with some of the synths replaced by overdrive-guitars?).
The possibilities are endless.

This disk contains a whole lot of MIDI music, more than you've ever seen
collected on one disk, so if you're one of us who like to mess around with our
MIDI equipment, you should find days and days of entertainment on this disk.
Maybe you're building up a library of MIDI music? In that case, this must be
better than christmas eve for you! :-)

The fact that you're getting this disk for no more than any AM/FM disk is
totally outrageous, since MIDI tunes normally cost some £5 each!

This disk contains 38 MIDI files, over 18 different songs, stored on the disk
in a variety of 3 major MIDI formats:

- Standard MIDI files (format 1)
- Music-X Performance files
- Dr.T's KCS .ALL files

The various formats are divided into different directories on the disk, so you
should have no problems finding what you are after. But we haven't just
stuffed the MIDI files on the disk. To accompany each MIDI song, this disk
also contains a verbal description of the song itself as well as the suggested
MIDI setup, the instruments to be assigned to each MIDI channel etc. etc. so
that you'll spend less time looking for the right setup and more time enjoying
the music! For many of the songs, even the lyrics are provided for you, in
case you want to sing along! The AM/FM staff has put a lot of work into these
song-documentations, so we really hope they will be useful to you. Special
thanks here, to Kevan & Gareth Craft from England, who did a great job with
many of these MIDI files and their documentation.

All the MIDI files on this disk are crunched with Powerpacker. When unpacked,
this disk contains almost three megabytes of MIDI music!! However,
Powerpacker has proved incredibly efficient on MIDI files, and crunched all of
this down to about 850 Kb, which is what we had room for on this disk. Since
the files are packed, you must unpack them before loading them into the proper
sequencer program. To unpack them, use Powerpacker v2.3 or higher, or simply
use the small "decrunch"-program stored in the c: directory of this disk.

From the menu system on this disk you will be able to choose between the
various songs. When you click on a song name, you will not
hear the song playing (that would require you to set up your synth equipment
etc. first), but you will see a document describing the song and in which
formats it is supplied.

Please note that the songs that are distributed through this disk are not PD.
They are provided to you so you can play around with them at home and enjoy
them for yourself and your friends, but you are not allowed to make use of any
of the songs in any commercial project, nor can you further distribute them on
other MIDI music collections, commercial or non-commercial.
