                    HOBBITS & SPACESHIPS FRONT COVER PICTURE                 
                                                                             

Just  as a little special feature in this issue's Basement Tapes section, I've
included  the  front  cover  picture for "Hobbits & Spaceships", the CD that I
released  in  1992 together with Seppo Hurme.  The picture might perhaps be of
interest  to  those  who  have  the  CD,  or  just  as a general amusement for
everyone.

When  the  CD  was released, it was never actually reviewed in AM/FM, which is
not  so  strange,  really  -  since  it  is  myself  who  write  most  CD- and
tape-reviews  for  this  magazine.  If I was to write a review of my own CD, I
don't  think  anyone would believe much of it!  And at the time, I didn't know
anyone  else  who would be capable AND willing to write it.  Which was too bad
really, as the CD is very much an Amiga product made by an Amiga musician.

However,  for  my  new CD, "Montage", I have been lucky enough to get the well
known AM/FM-writers Kevan and Gareth Craft to review it.  Check out the review
elsewhere  in  this  issue.   I  specifically  told  the  Craft brothers to be
completely  honest  in their review, and besides they have written so much for
AM/FM, that I think most readers will know about them and their integrity.

Anyways,  the  inclusion  of this "Hobbits & Spaceships" cover picture is just
for  fun.  The drawing of the "floating hobbit" was drawn by Knut Møgster, and
the text was later put on from the printout of a laser printer.  The cover was
then   scanned   with   a   hand-scanner  in  16-colours  greyscale,  and  the
red/purple/blue colours on the text was finally put on using DPaint.
