*********************************** AM/FM *********************************** MIDI Tools © Copyright 1988, 1991 Jack Deckard All Rights Reserved The following programs included with this file, SysEx, ProgChange, MIDI Keyboard, MIDI In to Out, Echo Processor, DXSwap, Matrix6Ed and FB-01Ed are part of a general purpose tool kit I work on now and then. The programs included here are NOT public domain, but are freely redistributeable to users groups. All make use of the midi.library written by Bill Barton of Pregnant Badger Software. This allows more than one program to use the serial port. AmigaDOS version 2.0 is required for any program that uses a file requester. Some documentation follows, everything should be pretty obvious. Some tools have initial parameters set up in the .info file, so check it out. You may run most of the programs (noneditors) up to nine times at once. MIDI In to Out Just like it says, this sends all MIDI messages recieved back on out. You may turn off pressure and sysex messages if you wish. This was featured on AM/FM Magazine Disk #8 -[Ed] ProgChange Send a program change message. A double click on the menu button will bring up a requester to change the midi channel. This was featured on AM/FM Magazine Disk #8 -[Ed] MIDI Keyboard Velocity is sent according to vertical placement. A double click on the menu button will bring up a requester to change the midi channel. This was featured on AM/FM Magazine Disk #8 -[Ed] Echo Processor Module to delay and resend midi messages. 1 to 31 repititions. User may select pitch and velocity data offsets for on/off messages. This was featured on AM/FM Magazine Disk #8 -[Ed] SysEx File midi system exclusive data dumps on disk. Can be used for any nonhandshaking type of data dump. Error detection for the DX7, FB-01, and Matrix 6 is implemented. SysEx saves the complete message from $f0 to $f7, so you can do things like copy datafile.synth to ser: at a CLI prompt if your preferences are set to MIDI baud rate. This was featured on AM/FM Magazine Disk #8 -[Ed] DXSwap Allows you to rearrange voices in two different 32 voice bulk data dumps. No MIDI I/O is done. Featured on THIS AM/FM-disk! Matrix6Ed A complete Matrix 6/1000 editor. Loads and saves in same format as SysEx. This program is shareware. The suggested fee is only $10.00. Featured on THIS AM/FM-disk! FB-01Ed A complete FB-01 editor. Loads and saves in same format as SysEx. This program is shareware. The suggested fee is $20.00 as it more polished than Matrix6Ed. Featured on THIS AM/FM-disk! You may also purchase the source code to all of these programs for $50.00, which might give you a head start on writing your own synth editor. These modules will be updated to use the official Commodore midi.library, if and when that ever gets released.
