     We are pleased to have Nico Francois' POWERPACKER PROFESSIONAL in hand
and ready for immediate sale.
     This is the commercial version of POWERPACKER. It is now up to 100
times faster than earlier versions, and it has a host of added features.
     The price is $25 ordered directly from JUMPDISK prior to January 1,
1991. On January 1 the price will rise to $29.95 -- regular retail cost.

     As authorized North American publisher of POWERPACKER, JUMPDISK has
agreed to begin shipments no earlier than Nov. 17, 1990.

3]WHAT IT IS
     POWERPACKER is a software method to store an average 94 percent more
material on standard Amiga floppy disks and hard drives.
     You can't stretch a disk, but with POWERPACKER you can compress the
sizes of files so nearly TWICE AS MUCH can be stored on a disk.
     POWERPACKER differs from standard file compression systems because its
stored material may be accessed on the fly, while remaining compressed on
its storage medium.
     -- Executable programs in Assembly, C, other languages and most
compiled Basics are given a header which decompresses and runs the program
when it is accessed.
     -- Data files may also be compressed by POWERPACKER. The author has
written a series of FREELY DISTRIBUTABLE utilities that access all types of
data files:
        PPMORE -- A scrolling screen reader for crunched text with such
features as SEARCH and PRINT.
        PPSHOW -- An crunched image display utility that decrunches and
shows an image at the click of an icon. Supports all image conventions:
IFF, HAM, etc. It cycles colors.
        PPTYPE -- Decrunches text and sends formatted, paginated output to
the printer.
        PPANIM -- Plays animations (standard ANIM format) that have been
crunched.
        DECRUNCH -- "Decrunches" data files back into their plain, longer
formats, allowing image files to be accessed by commercial paint programs,
text to be edited, etc.

3]A VALUE
     POWERPACKER is a remarkable value. This commercial version is far
faster than earlier shareware versions, and crunch algorithms are about 5
percent more effective. POWERPACKER will even more effectively re-crunch
files crunched by its own earlier versions.
     For numerous months JUMPDISK has used POWERPACKER as its most
effective editing tool -- to pack as much material as possible on its
monthly disk issues. Nearly everything on JUMPDISK is crunched, yet is
easily accessible to users.
     For the past three months we have been using POWERPACKER PROFESSIONAL
and are pleased with its performance.

3]EARLY SHIPMENTS
     As this is written, we are still in production of POWERPACKER
packaging -- software holder, printed cover, disk labels, etc. In order
to make the product available to the many eager users who have contacted us
in the past month following announcement that we would distribute, we will
initially ship only the serialized disks and brief instructions for getting
POWERPACKER to boot. The disks themselves contain clear documentation on how
the programs work. By early or mid-December we will send all purchasers of
record a second mailing containing the full packaging.
