Yep - what a dud of a game. The only thing that salvaged it
was the absolutely gorgeous final picture of the Terrorpods in the
ice. That convinced me that the Amiga was worth the money.

Bad games - When you're talking about bad games here are just
some of the highlights (lowlights ?) of the games that the software
industry has convinced (conned ?) me into getting ....

UMS 2 - play World War II - in REAL time !!!

Bionic Commando - just like the arcade original - except for
the gameplay, the graphics, the sound etc. etc.

Outrun - arcade perfect - except some slight loss in the
quality of the gameplay, graphics and sound. Better luck next time US
Gold ...

Except next it was ...

Forbidden Worlds - well it was a big coin-op and US Gold were
frank that they'd have to cut out a few features - so out went gameplay,
graphics and sound. Who said US Gold couldn't write a decent game if they
tried ? Say it a bit louder next time.

Enough, I'm victimising US Gold - how about Ocean ???

Total Recall - re-enact the famous `jumping along the
platforms and climbing ladders scene' from the movie. Also seen in the
Untouchables, Batman, RoboCop, RoboCop II, Lethal Weapon, Addams Family
etc. etc. [Apparently some movie censors cut these tremendous scenes out
of the original movies - a tragedy]

And I'd hate to leave out the darlings of the game industry Team 17
...

Alien Breed - the game is loosely based on `Aliens' (the
movie) and a good quote from that film is :- `is this another bug hunt ?'
Well there are lots of really nasty ones here - doors that don't open,
credits that don't um credit, squares that suck you in and won't let
go ... A classic. One for all the disassemblers amongst us ...

Project X - love the rave music, like the title graphics,
wanna play a game? Insert disk - and wait, and wait, and wait - why
were we here again ....?

Or what about Psygnosis ???

	Lemmings 2 - `Oh No ! More Lemmings', yes I couldn't put it
better myself. Remember the fun and addiction of the original ? - well I
hope you do, 'cos this ain't got either.

Second Samurai AGA - its just incredible ! by a clever use of
the AGA palette it looks identical in every respect to the original ...
Once again we ask - `How do Psygnosis do it ?' Then we ask `Why do
Psygnosis bother doing it ?' Then we ask `Why did we buy it ?' Answers
on a postcard please ...

And I haven't played these but, Cliffhanger and Last Action
Hero from Psygnosis are supposed to be *REALLY* bad. (Rumour has it
that LAH (the game) is *actually* worse than LAH (the movie) - can it
be *THAT* bad ?????)
						Mike.

(Relieved that Psygnosis didn't do a `Universal Soldier' movie licence
- now that would be the definitively BAD game)
