Well... Here it is, you bastards! :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The 1st ever Primus THEME for Win 95! w/ the Plus! Pack ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Why did he do this? I figured that there was no more appropriate theme for Windows 95 than 'Sailing the Seas of Cheese', so I went ahead and created one.. Fitting, huh? Getting started: If you bought the Plus! Pack for Win 95 then you most likely set up the Desktop Themes package. This is a theme I created, that you can install and enjoy! (or not enjoy, it's entirely up to you..) 1st: Create a folder under the Plus! Pack's 'Themes' directory, and name it 'Primus' (without the quotes) 2nd: Unzip this archive into that directory, make sure you're using an unzipper that supports long file names! This is important! Otherwise, it just won't work... 3rd: Right click on the Primus.Theme file, and choose 'Open' or 'Apply Settings' - you'll figure it out.. 4th: Finally: relax, pop Frizzle Fry into your tape deck... And enjoy Windows 95 for the first time ever! What's included: I hope you all enjoy this, I spent quite a bit of time working on it, on and off for the last few weeks... I've included a bunch of cursors, sounds, icons, and background wallpaper. The wallpaper is a 1024x768 .bmp, at 256 colors or so, i'm not sure.. If you have a lower resolution monitor, and want to see the whole thing, use a program to convert the wallpaper to the correct size.. The icons are all standard size, and the sounds should all be 22khz, 8 bit, mono. If you have 'TweakUI', that great little powertoy that lets you change around the interface, why not change the shortcut arrow to the little fish ('Shortcut Arrow.ico', included), to 'enhance' the cheesy theme? Also, I changed the name of the Recycle Bin to 'Fish Bucket' (when you see the full bucket, you'll know why).. of course, i also got really bored and hex-edited the SHELL32.DLL file to show this stuff through all the menus too, but.. well... I got _really_ bored... and unfortunately, that file isn't freely distributable.. :) And finally, I included another 'default arrow' that is animated.. If you don't mind a few fish frolicking about under the arrow, then feel free to change to it ('Primus arrow.ani', also included).. Disclaimers: I don't guarantee this to work, but I think it will, if you follow the directions I've given you.. How hard can this be? If you screw up your computer installing this, chances are it's just Windows having a bad day and re-affirming the whole nature of this theme! Finally: This program is Geek-ware. What this means is that if you like it, you can affirm your geekiness by sending me email telling me something I want to hear, like "Wow, I love your Primus theme!" or, "Gosh, if that isn't the neatest thing I've seen in a while!"... Let's see how many Primus-lovin' geeks there are out there... My email address, on the net (of course), is alman@sidehack.gweep.net .. My name is Ben Alman, I like Primus, and go to the Univerity of Massachusetts Lowell, majoring in Music.. That's enough about me.. I reserve the rights to do whatever, however, wherever to this archive and all the files within, and I reserve the right to reserve the right to do just that! So there! All the trademarks are respective of their owners, etc.. blah blah blah... You get the picture... Enjoy!
