Win Or Die (Version 1.0a) by Darryl L. Pierce and Michael E. Nelson 様様様様様 Well, this is a very simple game to play. The game is broken down into 10 rounds. Each round consists of 1 turn for you and 1 turn for the computer. During each round, the following happens: o The player up is give a RANDOM "Death Number" between 2 and 12. o Then the 2 random numbers between 1 and 6 are chosen. These two numbers are then added together and their sum is compared to the player's "Death Number." If the two are different, the player is given the option of continuing the round. If the two are the same, then that player has "died" for that round and gains no points for it. o With each set of random numbers chosen, the score for that round increases by 5. If the player decides not to continue that round, they get the score for that round added to their game score (their overall score). The game continues until the 10 rounds are completed, and the winner is the player who has the highest score overall for the game! Pretty simple to follow, eh? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now for the boring stuff that most of you won't even read! :) 21MAR91 - 03:47am If you like this, game leave us a message somehow, somewhere on one of the national echos (either SmartNet, RIME or ILink) and let us know what you think. This is a little online game that Darryl wrote about 3 years ago (in 1988) when he was still running a Cnet board on his Commodore 128 (The World Of GreyHawk, for those of you who can remember it!!! How could you forget?) It was a popular program that got alot of downloads from other Cnet and Image SysOps who wanted it for their boards as well. Not being the most ingenious program, it did offer one incentive for the user playing the game; WIN, or be logged off the board. Win Or Die is currently being written as an IBM BBS door under Turbo Pascal 6.0 (unless either Darryl Or Michael learns how to do efficient coding in Turbo C++ any time in the near future!) so keep your eyes open for a copy of it floating around a BBS near you... Remember, if you like this program, please feel free to drop a line to either Darryl (B.K.A. Darryl Basner on RIME, ILink and SmartNet) or Michael (A.K.A. Michael Nelson on RIME, ILink and SmartNet, and also under a few other names by the FBI, CIA, INTERPOL and a few other international taskforces that handle terrorists with long hair and glasses!) and let us know what you think, as we only ask for your praise and NOT YOUR MONEY!!! :) Have fun and enjoy the game!!!!
