AMOS Tutorials to Download

These pages contain various AMOS and AMOSPro tutorials for you to download, and look at so you can develop projects of your own. The archives here contain various pieces of source code and texts, to provide you with as much help as possible. The authors ask that you mention them in the credits of your programs, if you take routines from these sources, and include them in your own programs. The archives here, are freely distributable providing no money is involved.

If you have written an AMOS tutorial covering any aspect of AMOS, I would love to upload it here. It could just be a text file, or a text file, and groups of source code etc. If you email to me at this address along with your name and email address, I will be happy to upload it. If you have a small graphic to go with it, like the ones here, then feel free to send me that too. Thank-you.

Graphic Equalizers

Written by Andrew "Mushroom" Kellett. Ever wondered how those fancy bars are made to move to the music in various games and demos? With this tutorial, you can now make that happen in your own games and demos. Lots of source examples for you to use, as well as an easy to follow text file to read, which explains fully the routines, and how they work. Includes sprite bank to get you started off.

IFF Fonts

Written by Andrew "Mushroom" Kellett. Are you bored of using the same old default text font in your games and utilities? Are you unsure of how to make interesting screen presentations with fancy fonts, without having to Spack each screen? The routines in this tutorial package explain fully how you can use an IFF font in your program, and use it for scrollers, centering, pasting etc. and all is done with only one screen needed in the background! Only the font bank is needed. The package comes with several already-programmed fonts, as well as a text file which explains how the routines work, and can be adapted to suit your own needs!

Tracker Tutorial

Written by Andrew "Mushroom" Kellett. Not only will this tutorial show you how to make tracker demos, with interesting graphical effects, but will also show you how to construct a good module player, of which one is included in the source. You will learn how to make various impressions in music demos via graphics etc., and also learn how to use AMOS to determine the type of module it is you wish to play, and how to tell it to play it. Some of the routines used in this source are from my module player MMPlay CLI, which you can also download, and is a much bigger program than the one featured in this tutorial. Titchyplay V1.7 is also available from my page to download, and is even smaller than MMPlay, yet still has the ability to play all the modules.
