This tool is basicly a CC dispenser for a sysop that wants to support his top traders with CC`s! It gives the registered user of the service a rack where he can find his own CC`s. The manager can simply give the user a list of cards for abusing! So the user doesn`t nerv the sysop all the time "jo dude! gimme a new card!" But the tool can do a whole lot more! Check it out! I wrote it in AREXX coz it is simple and developing gets fast. I did not compile it coz it didn`t work on every platform and i am not afraid of some people anticipating from my source code! (great ehm?!) You don`t have to worry that there might be a backdoor in it, coz you can read the source and convince yourself! " @next install Check your CARDS version for Backdoors thru a magic checksum: ============================================================= To make sure that you are using a 100% original version from the author, that means that there are NO backdoors in the program, use the accomplished little proggy named: »» CARDScheckV2.2 ««! That program will give you the information which version of CARDS you are using and a checksum for it! (listed below) Do the check once you downloaded the CARDS package from your favourite BBS! Just to see if some dummy altered the code in order to atach a backdoor to the service! It will be displayed before the door starts. After the ansi you will be questioned about a user password!! You can edit the APPLICATION-PW and also the PUBLIC-PW in the CONFIG-file: => CARDS.CNF There are 2 entries: PRIVATE= <= APPLICATION-PW for the @{" PRIVATE-MODE " link private} PUBLIC= <= APPLICATION-PW for the @{" PUBLIC-MODE " link public} If you don't want an ansi before the tool, just put a blank line in the file CARDS.BAN! In order to run this nize little tool correctly you have to edit the file CARDS.AXX! This file contains the usernames of the people that are allowed to have full managing axxs to the tool! So put yar sysop-username in here! That means that the users in that list can edit custom racks and add users to the service! So be careful with that entries (normaly only sysop, cosys and card supplier) In case that your bbs-username contains special ascii codes that are not allowed in amiga dos you have to insert your bbs-username in the file »» CARDS.ALI ««. That is the alias file. The tool recognizes names with bad ascii codes and tries to substitute them internaly with alias's! So budhead go ahead and enter yar bbs-username with all da strange ansi stuff and let a '@' follow directly and after that you enter a decent amiga dos compatible alias for the bbs-username! You need to do this only the first time! From than on you will enter the alias online if it's needed! PHEWW...That was hard to explain but most of the people are so stupid! hehe @endnode @node private " The PRIVATE-MODE " @next public PRIVATE-MODE: ============= the PRIVATE mode is for accounted users of the CARDS service only! If the user entered the PRIVATE-PW he will see his private (OWN) rack. If he entered the PUBLIC-PW he will see the public rack. @endnode @node public " The PUBLIC-MODE " @next import PUBLIC-MODE: ============ The PUBLIC-MODE is a rack for all users of the CARDS service and the ones that don`t have an own rack but want to get sum donation cards from the beloved sysop! So if the sysop wants to kill a card or just make a present to all users than he puts a card into the PUBLIC rack and eall`s the CARDS-PUBLIC-PW! If you entered no PUBLIC-PW in the CARDS.CNF file, then the PUBLIC-MODE is turned OFF!! I implemented this option, coz i thought it might come handy for one or another sysop! But that's not all! This option will indicate how many MONTH the logfile contains! e.g.: if KEEP_LOG=2 is set (default) and we have march than the logfile will hold all actions for february and march!
