                    User's Manual for the MsgTop utility.


1. Introduction

   This utility is for you, sysops, who would like to stimulate users
   to write more messages. It looks like a regular Top Uploaders list
   but it shows who's been writing the most messages. It's very simple
   to use so there should be no problems. It also displays some other
   info like; the total amount of messages written, number of users,
   and so on. I think you'll enjoy it!

2. How to get started

   The of the MsgTop Util looks like this:

   MsgTop [User.Data] [OutputFile] [-g/-n] [IncludeFile/-n]

   The User.Data argument is of course the full path to your user.data
   file. The OutputFile argument is the full path to where you want the
   result to go. The -g or -n argument is for ANSI graphics or not. 
   (-g for ANSI and -n for NO ANSI). The next argument is the include-
   file. This a textfile which will be included in the actual result-
   file. Replace this with -n if you don't want an includefile.

   Here's an example: 
   
   Your user.data file is in BBS: and you would like the output to
   be in BBS:Elite/Bulletins/Bull5.txt. You would also like ANSI
   graphics, and an include file which is called 'Head' and is 
   placed in the S: directory. The commandline would then look
   like this:

   MsgTop BBS:User.Data BBS:Elite/Bulletins/Bull5.txt -g s:Head

   Pretty simple, eh?


3. Hints

   The only hint I can give, is that older versions of AmiExpress
   doesn't save info about how many messages a user has written,
   so make sure you are using the newest version available.
   (I run it with AmiExpress v1.0 Oct 31 1990, myself and that
   works fine!)

6. Credits and other Information

   Programmed in Manx Aztec 'C' for reliable and system-friendly code.

   Programming:       Bryce! - Horizon

   This util has been tested, and works 100% on: KickStart 1.2, 1.3, 2.0.
   It has also been tested on various RAM set-ups, such as; 1 Mb chip, 
   0.5 Mb chip, 0.5 Mb chip & 0.5 Mb fast, 0.5 Mb chip & 4 Mb fast, 1 Mb 
   chip and 2 Mb fast, 1 Mb chip & 1 Mb fast, 2 Mb chip & 4 Mb 32 bit fast,
   and this worked 100%. Processors tested with this util includes: 68000 
   7.14 Mhz, 68030 25 MHz, and 68882 25 MHz, and no problems occured with 
   this either.
