Introduction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 For those of you who never played Captain Nose's 8-Liner module on the
 various C*Base 64 boards that had it online, here's what it's all about:
  8-Liner is a storyboard type thing. (Kind of like how you sometimes have
  a subboard where someone starts a story and another user adds to it, and
  so on.) Only difference is.. The user adding on to the story only gets to
  see the last TWO lines of the story! This makes it hard for users to stay
  on track with the original story. Users are not allowed to view the
  entire story until they actually finish adding on to the story. The name
  '8-Liner' comes from the fact that players can add on a max of 8 lines to
  the story and then must wait until the next day to addon to it again. Of
  course us SysOps can cheat, but I suggest you don't as it takes all the
  fun out of it.. You C*Base veterans out there will find that the colors
  are untouched from the actual C*Base version*. And all maintenance and
  installation of files is done INTERNALLY.. No writing text files, or
  editing them.. No editing the program file, just add it to your PFILE
  section and GO!!
  * Colors are not exactly the same due to differences in the Commodore 64
    and ANSI colors.. Ie: C64 has 3 shades of gray whereas ANSI does not.
    If you do not have a 16 color terminal, then the colors will MOST
    definately not be the same as the C*Base ver..
    I find that changing the CNet colors that have C64 equivalents to those
    equivalents via taking the numbers on the RGB settings for the A64
    Package and changing the CNet colors to match.. Not all of them, just
    the ones that are on C64.. Ie: Do NOT change Dark Purple or Dark Cyan..
    I can also say that ANSI pics look a HELL of a lot better with the
    Commodore 64 colors!!!
Added Features over the C*Base version
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 * Select whether you want Co/SysOps to be able to cheat or not.
   (Add whenever, regardless of whether they already have, view the story
   any time they wish)
 * Automatic LOCK-UP protection protects your system from lockups!!! Just
   type in the AutoEXIT password at any editor prompts. This is good so
   that if you or you Co decide to be a lameass and modify my program, you
   won't fall on your ass.. If the program seems to be in an endless loop,
   just type in the password, and it will automatically exit the program.
 * ALL text is written so that it will ALWAYS wrap perfect no matter what.
   (Just like the CNet NEWUSER files!!)
 * The title screen automatically comes ready and centered on the screen
   for BOTH 40 and 80 column users
 * The editor page guides come ready for BOTH 40 & 80 column users..

 ! Not a feature, but a change.. The lines are now limited to 79 columns
   instead of 39 columns so that 80 col users can type in a full line. 40
   col users still have 79 columns, and one line appears as two for them,
   but hell, 40 columns is too short for 80 column users!! And plus, I'm
   sure 40 col users won't mind the extra line per line since it's the same
   amount of characters anyway.. I doubt anyone like to type for 3 seconds
   then WOOPS, ran out of space...

Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Just do the following: (It's SOOO Easy!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  1. Go into your modules (PFiles) directory.
  2. Add it as an AREXX PFile by (A)dding it on the list.

     You can put the PROGRAM file wherever you wish, just make sure to load
     it from there in the SETTINGS.. The datafiles will be placed in
     PFiles: regardless of where the program is..

     To turn the cheating for Co/SysOps off, just put this in the ARGUMENTS
     box.

     NOCHEAT

     This will disable cheating for access groups 30 and 31..

     Note: The program will auto-detect if the user has maint access, and
     give him the access if it is appropriate.

  3. Make sure to disable MORE prompts and make it so that only ONE user at
     a time can use it.. (Hey, I'm WORKING on a way to UNDO this step!!)
  4. That's ALL folks!! Easiest Installation you ever did!!

Usage of this FINE program
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 OK When it all comes down to it.. Using it is the most important thing..
 When you go into it, you see the fine title by Captain Nose.. THen you are
 prompted:
 Instructions [Y/N]: (The default for this ? is yes)
 Hitting Anything but N will display the instructions.. They are nothing
 but maybe 7 or 8 lines for 80 col users, but almost take up a page for 40
 col users (assuming they only have 24 rows).
 After the Instructions are displayed, you go back to the beginning..
 Type N this time, and you will see one of these two:
 Loading Story File  00,ok,00,00
 Loading Story File  62,fnf,00,00
 Don't worry.. Those are just the C64 error messages.. OK means that it
 found the story file and loaded it correctly and is C64 error #0, and fnf
 is the shortened form of File Not Found which is error #62 on a commie..
 Now I forget what the other #s mean.
 Anyway, after that the main menu pops up.. Here it is in full:
 8-Liner Main Menu
 ~~~~~~~
  [A] Add to Story (Only available first time user plays)
  [V] View Story (Only available after user plays)
  [R] Reset Story (Only available if user has MAINT access)
  [Q] Quit '8-Liner' (Always available)

 Add - Technically just lets U add to the story..

 It will tell you the last two lines of the story, then you can add your
 own lines (up to 8).

 You cannot add twice in a row.. (Unless of course you CHEAT!! PS only
 ag30-31 can cheat if you don't turn it off)

 The editor is explained in another section

 View - This will view the story after you have added to it.

 The story pauses every 20 lines and you must hit any key to resume it.

 Reset - This option allows the System Operators to RESET (Kill, Toast,
 DisRUPT!!) the current story and then are prompted to enter at least two
 lines for the new story, if you do not enter at least 2 lines, it will
 abort and go back to the main menu.

 Quit - This will quit the program and the save the ACTUAL story data file.

 You will get the same C64 error messages as when it loaded the data in the
 first place..

Maintenance
~~~~~~~~~~~~
 There is NONE!! Not even AUTOMAINT to add in to EVENTS.. The program will
 automatically keep track of who played that day and who didn't and allow
 them to play or not, then the next day everything is reset. And all users
 may play again that next day.
