 QuickNote is a little notepad, which has only one purpose and that is scrap-notes ;-)

 Q : Why did I make this program ?

 A : I don't like to have thousands of post-it notes all over my room...
     This program will replace all those notes, and you don't need to find a
     pen etc.. just use your keyboard ;-)

 This version has a limit to 10kb of data, which I think is way to much
 for such things (but if you think this is to low, please let me know).

 @{b}@{u}Features@{uu}@{ub}

 This programs features :

 · Very little memory usage.
 · Configureable look (bevel, papercolour and pencolour).
 · Remember window position and content when exit. (main function) :)
 · Fast & Easy to use.
 · Totaly free

@NEXT "usage"

 @{b}@{u}Requirements@{uu}@{ub}

 This program needs following stuff:

 · An Amiga (ohh gosh, you can't mean that) :-)
 · AmigaDOS 2.04 or higher..
 · textfield.gadget 3.1 or higher (included in this archive)
   Place it under @{b}Sys:Classes/Gadgets/@{ub}

   @{b}textfield.gadget 3.1 is Copyright © 1995 Mark Thomas@{ub}

 · The unit where the program is placed on must be writeable,
   so the notes can be saved... (you will not be able to save
   the notes if you run the program from CD-ROM for example...)

 This program has been tested on following systems with success:

 Amiga 4000 (AmigaDOS 3.5, CyberStorm MkII, CV3D, 2 Mb Chip/96 Mb Fast),

@PREV "req"
@NEXT "news"

 @{b}@{u}Usage@{uu}@{ub}

 When you start the program for the first time, the window content
 says "- Welcome to QuickNote 1.3!". This is the because there is no
 default message available.

 The default message is created when the information in the window
 has been changed and the program closed.
 This message will be placed in the same drawer as QuickNote itself,
 and will be called "QuickNote.msg".

 When the program has created the default message and you start the
 program (again) the message will be loaded and visable as the window
 content. From here you can edit your note again, and that's the
 main purpose of this program.

 When you exits the program, the window content and position will be
 remebered until next time you start the program.

 @{b}Menus :@{ub}

 · Clear all (Project)
     Clear the current window content.

 · Load default (Project)
     This clears the current window content and replace it with the default
     message if the message has been changed (A requester will ask you
     if you really want to replace the current text...)

 · Save as... (Project)
     This is an option to let you save the content to a separate file.
     By using this you can use QuickNote as a simple texteditor :-)

 · About... (Project)
     Well, I think all of you understand this one ? :)

 · Quit (Project)
     If you have used the option "Save as..." before you choose this you will
     be asked if you want to save the current text, or just ignore it
     (if you just used the program as a texteditor and don't want to replace
     the default message).
     This requester will not be showed if you have (after you picked "Save as")
     choosed "Clear all" or "Load default".

     Notice! - A blank ("Clear all") window content will not be saved over
               the default message.

================================================================================

 · Undo (Edit)
     Will undo the current content in the delete-buffer.

 · Cut (Edit)
     Cuts the marked text and places it in the clipboard.

 · Copy (Edit)
     Copies the marked text and places it in the clipboard.

 · Paste (Edit)
     Pastes the content (if any) from the clipboard to the edit window.

 Notice! - Even if you don't see the mark when you pick some of the upper
           menu choices, the text will be copied or cutted as intended.
           (This will be fixed in next release!)

================================================================================

 · Cursor (Preferences)
     Here you choose where you want the cursor to appear when you start
     QuickNote (choices are : Beginning and End).

 · Font (Preferences)
     Here you can change the font in the edit window.
     Changes will only have effekt after that you restart QuickNote.
     (Will change this in the next version so it can be done w/o restart).

================================================================================

 @{b}Editing a note :@{ub}

 Simply click on the editable parts in the user-interface and start to write ;-)

 · You can use the mouse to mark words or whole text-parts...

 Keys that can be used during edit (normal keys) :

 · RAmiga+a           = Mark all text.
 · RAmiga+x           = Cut marked text.
 · RAmiga+c           = Copy marked text.
 · RAmiga+v = Paste text after cursor position.
 · RAmiga+z           = Undo (if delete-buffer is filled/used).
 · Shift+Backspace = Will delete the whole string left of the cursor position.
 · Shift+Delete = Will delete the whole string right of the cursor position.
 · RAmiga+x or Delete = Will delete the marked areas (marked by the mouse).

 @{b}Tool types@{ub} that can be use for configuring the look of QuickNote :

 BORDER : Can be some of following choice - NONE (Default)
                                          - BEVEL
                                          - DOUBLEBEVEL

 PAPERPEN : Can be a number between 0 and 255 (Default : 0)

 FONTPEN : Can be a number between 0 and 255 (Default : 1)

 The number is the position in the palette, so if you start the program
 SYS:prefs/palette you will see the first 8 pens... The pens from left to right
 has the numbers 0 to 7...

 It's pretty nice to have white papercolor and black fontpen... (Just a tip) ;-)

 @{b}Customize QuickNote :@{ub}

 Mark QuickNote's icon and choose info in the menu (Workbench) to configure this...
 If you have any problems with this, please let me know...
 The tool types that has "()" around it is not active, to make it active simply
 remove them...

 @{b}Limitations : @{ub}

 If you have created a default message from another source and it's
 bigger than 10 kb, the program will reject the file and the window
 will look like it does when you don't have a default message.
