5. News in Brief
- On http://www.amiga.com/press/zine/
you can find the first edition of AMIGAs new magazine 'Amiga World'. It contains some interesting articles about the next
generation Amiga and its operating system. The publication is available in HTML and PDF format.
- On http://www.benews.com there is a summons about the most
interesting operating system. On our closing date the new AmigaOS leads far ahead.
- On the eMail friends@amiga.com address already named in the last edition
you can also make suggestions for the new AmigaOS.
- Dealers, who are interested in building resp. distributing the Amiga developer machine should contact AMIGA vice
president Randall P. Hughes (randy@amiga.com).
- According to a rumour, the Java engine of the new AmigaOS will be six to fifteen times faster than any other
(including the one from Sun). The new AmigaOS would be the only operating system, which would support heterogen multi
processing. "Hosted" on a different OS there should be a speed disadvantage of about 30 percent compared to
standalone operation.
