3. Future vision - Classic Amiga (by Thorsten Schoelzel)

»Under this title I want to place an appeal to all innovative hardware developers concerning the support of the new "Z4 Board". An inducement to purchase the board might be a fast 3D graphics board (RivaTNT, Voodoo3 ...).

That the Amiga is dead recognized by fact, that since years no powerfull graphics board with fitting to the Zorro2/Zorro3 boards was introduced to the market (not to mention the Pixel64). Hey, people, how about a change?! The Z4 board is quite good in its origin and a high quality graphics board should be possible more than ever, because I need a new grahics board still for my 68k Amiga system and not for PPC systems (CybervisionPPC, BlizzardVisionPPC & CybervisonNG?).

Especially for games this might have an unpredictable significance, because it depends greatly upon the graphics processors and not at all upon the specific CPU (look at Sony Playstation).

With this WipeOut 2097 certainly will run on 68k systems, yeepee!

My vision for the future might be like this:

My Amiga 1400-Ti equipped with the Z4 board - I already have a Blizzard1260 and lots of FastRAM - additionally a big portion of graphic power personated in a new 3D Graphics Board and and a sound board - which I already have.

The only thing I'm still missing is a new "3D Graphics Board"!!!
