DBM2XM interface contains 3 pages (report, prefs and about), and also two buttons and progress indicator at the bottom .

• LOAD - loads the source DBM module. The opened directory is determined by path chosed in prefs page Actually, the program loads data without samples. This way you can set optimal parametres of conversion without loading samples (usually a large amount of data) into memory.
  After loading, the numbers of instruments and corresponding samles are checked. If they are not equal the file will be scaned for starting points of samples. The next step is scanning and converting patterns. If 8 octave note is found and 8th Octave option is set to Resample - it causes scanning file for samples, too.

• CONVERT - starts the converting but first asks for the destination file.

• The progress indicator is placed between these buttons. It shows progress of converting job for patterns and each instument. Additionaly, following messages appear in this field:
  

  • Ready...

  • Ready to convert - after module preloading and analizing

  • Loading file...

  • Scanning file... - in time of seeking start points of samples

  • Analizing patterns

  • instrument X/Y - in time of instrument X out of Y converting

  • Seems to be OK - will be shown for 1 sec if the conversion will be done succesful

  • ERROR - will be shown for 1 sec if some error occured
