Try to navigate by clicking items on the bitmap
Preferences section contains 4 areas. At the bottom there is Save Prefs button, saving your settings into DBM2XM.prefs file in program directory
If this file doesn't exist or some part of its contents is incorect, the program takes deafault atributes (given at the end of description of each parameter).
Area CONVERSION consists of convertion settings.
Leave - commands are left untouched and then converted to XM. Usually percentage of lost commands is large.
If Needed - exchange commands only if it's needed (ie. in DBM: 102 C20 will be exchanged because C20 can be converted to VolCMD and 102 can't.
Optimal - all commands that have equivalents in VolCMD column in XM will be moved into VolCMD (ie. in DBM: 000 P01 could stay, but will be moved). This way the destination file is shorter, and also XM is clearer under FT2
Force - it will convert commands, which can be moved to VolCMD but with lower precission (ie. in DBM: F06 856 - 8xx effect will be moved to VolCMD but its parameter will be cutted to 50 (look at XM specs)
NO - Only the first song will be converted to XM module
YES - All songs will be converted in song number order as one module, but result number of positions can't be higher then 256 (others songs will be droped).
With looping - like the last option but now at the and of each song will be added loop command (Bxx)
8th octave - DBM format supports 7 octaves and additionaly notes from C-8 to G-8. XM doesn't.
to 7th octave - all 8th-octave notes will be set down to 7th octave
resample - if needed, will make new instrument based on the one used with the note. All instrument's atributes will be copied but the sample will be resampled upwards.
remove note - removes 8th-octave notes
remove all - removes 8th-octave notes and its commands
ADDITIONAL area includes default parameters for XM module. These params are not present in DBM module.
Def. Tempo - Defines start value of XM module speed
(like F0x effect, max. value is 15)
Default value: 6
Def. BPM - Defines start value of XM module BPM (like Fxx (xx>15), range from 32 to 255
Default value: 125
Freq. Table - This cycle button makes it possible to set the parameter describing type of frequency table.
Usualy Amiga (Paula) use non-linear freq table (called Amiga Freq. Table). But it should be linear. it may cause problems with some effects. For examplr frequency vibrato (4xy). With Amiga freq table set the converted XM module sounds not so good. In this case should be used Linear Freq Table.
But using linear freq table may cause incorrect working of 3xx, 1xx, 2xx, EAx, EBx commands. Incomplete pitch is possible in this case.

NOTE: DBPro exports XM module with Amiga freq. Table.
MISC
To Raport - With this switch set, any raport changes in the raport page will cause this page pop-up.
Prescan - Patterns will be converted, instruments will be checked for used samples (and file may be scaned) and also a raport will be generated immeditielly after module pre-loading. If this option is not set, all these things will be performed after pressing Analyze button (in Raport page) or Convert button which begins the conversion.
Path mem. - If not set the file requesters will be opened in location specified in default paths section. If set, the program will remember the last chosen path.
Add Sig. - If set, the DBM2XM signature will be added into converted module. If number of instruments is lower then 124, signatures will be written as four next empty instruments. in another case, names of last 4 inrtuments will be overvritten by the signature.=

File Buffer - defines amount of memory for buffers of source and destination files.
If you have enought memory, you can set buffer to the size corresponding to source file lenght. It causes loading whole file into memory and speed-up the conversion. But remember, in time, the buffer for destination file with the same ammount will be allocated. So, you have to have free memory equal to doubled parameter in this field.
