AmigaOS 2.7100.413 client - Released 1998-07-13

 Requirements:

-AmigaOS 2.04 or greater (3.0 if you're running the PPC client)
-A TCP stack compatible with AmiTCP 3.0 or newer..
There are several. Miami for example.
Also AS225R2 with a special emulation library, look on the Amiga effort
homepage/misc section for the archive link (address below).

There are two versions of the client.
One 68k version and one PPC version.

 The 68k version requires:
-An 020 or higher. An 040 or preferably 060 is HIGHLY recommended.

 The PPC version requires:
-A 603e or higher PPC processor. Tested on 603e and 604e.
-Phase5's ppc.library version 45.15 or higher.
Recommended you use at least 45.20 as that's what I use and it works fine
 for me.

Read rc5des.txt for instructions on installation and a FAQ and other info.

The PPC binary is now in HUNKOBJ format, ie you don't need any patches
or otherwise to start the client. Just start it as you would any
other program...

Have any general problems? First try to read the rc5des.txt's FAQ section.
Doesn't help? Mail me. blast@amiganet.org is my email.

If you want to contribute to the Amiga RC5 Team Effort, visit the effort
homepage at http://homepage.cistron.nl/~ttavoly/rc5, it contains all the
necessary info along with extensive information on usage, configuration,
trouble shooting etc. IMPORTANT: the client defaults to rc5@distributed.net,
unless you change this your work is going to Bovine instead of the Amiga
effort. The usage section on the Amiga effort pages contains all you need to
know to change this.

I just have to say Thank You to:

Steve Krueger - The man behind SAS/C and SAS/C for PPC.

- You helped a lot with the client from the compiler's point of view.
Also, you were right. A big THANK YOU.

My whole betatesting team - Oliver Wagner.

- You've tested more unstable clients than anyone would dare to. You've
crashed, you've had system problems due to the PPC client and you never
said "I don't want to test the client anymore". Another THANK YOU.

Thomas Tavoly - coordinator of the Amiga RC5 Team.

- How many members are there now? Slightly over 1000 members? Well, without
you there wouldn't be. Even when I scared them away with my unstable
releases :). Keep up the good work!

Various people emailing about the client.

There are generally three kinds of people:

1. The "There's a bug in there, and I think it could be related to ... " or
"maybe you should try to.." person. - You know you're appreciated.

2. The "Good work! Keep it up!" person - Can't say much except it's higly
appreciated, makes me feel I've got somebody behind me.

3. The "You suck! Fix the client! It doesn't work!" - for you I can only say:
GET A LIFE. I'm doing my best.

The whole Amiga RC5 Team

- Without you there wouldn't be much of a point in doing the client, so keep
on cracking! Maybe YOU can find the key with the client.
