CrossDOS Patch Version 6.06 August 12, 1996 We at CONSULTRON would like to thank you for purchasing CrossDOS. We are always trying to provide you with a quality product for your productivity needs. The files included with this archive are patches to be applied to the CrossDOS product disk. Once the patches are applied, you can use it from the product disk or reinstall it on your hard drive. ******************************************* Patching CrossDOS These patches will only patch your CrossDOS product disk to 6.06 if it is one of the following releases: 6.00 6.01 6.02 6.03 6.04 You can identify which release you have by displaying the second line in the "READ.ME" file on your product disk. The following steps should be used to patch successfully. 1. Make a "diskcopy" of the original CrossDOS product disk. Use the copy of CrossDOS for patching ONLY. 2. Make sure the copy of CrossDOS is named "CrossDOS". Rename the disk if necessary. (ie. remove "copy of " or "copy_of_" from the name) 3. From Workbench, double-click on the "Patcher" icon. 4. Answer the few questions presented. Go get a cup of [.......... insert your favorite drink here .......]. 5. If you wish to use the updated programs from the product disk, you may need to reboot your Amiga to flush the old programs from the system. If you previously installed our product, reinstall it again and reboot the system. DO NOT reconfigure any CrossDOS hard drives. They should work without change. ******************************************* Update History 6.06 ---- -- Added support for MS-DOS formatted drives larger than 4G. -- Fixed problem with ConfigDisk program accessing omniscsi.device HD controllers. -- Added support to Dr_CrossDOS and Install programs to display CIN and current CrossDOS release in the product disk. -- Minor maintenance fixes. 6.05 ---- -- Internal release 6.04 ---- -- We 'kludged' around a problem of some PCs formatting a HD floppy to use a 12 bit FAT but specifying a 16-bit FAT in the boot record. I hope they do get it right shortly. -- Small diagnostic program enhancements. 6.03 ---- -- We fix a small bug in configuring a file disk that caused the machine to crash. 6.02 ---- -- We support a wider range of MS-DOS formatted hard drive partitions. -- Minor bug fixes. -- Added a feature that all file names have spaces replaced with the `_' character.
