THE AMIGA STOCK MARKET INSTRUCTIONS (DOCS AND PROGRAM IDEA TAKEN FROM COLOR64 STOCK MARKET ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY STEVE WAGY AND TERRY MURPHY) This doc file and the main program function very similar to the COLOR64 STOCK MARKET game. A future version will further set the differences apart. An on-line game where you compete against 30 of your fellow users. The object is to become the first Investor to increase your net-worth to $1,000,000 or more. All seats are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Investors will start with $50,000. You must visit the market at least once every 10 days or your seat will be deleted to make room for other users. Any investor that owns NO stock and whos cash holding have dropped below $1,000 will also be deleted. There are 10 options available in the Stock Market. They are: 1 - The Big Board 2 - Your Portfolio 3 - List of Investors/Net-Worth 4 - Check a Company/Stock-Holders 5 - Visit your Broker (Buy/Sell) 6 - Help/Instructions 7 - Update Stock Prices 8 - Stock Market News L - Display Last Player and Last Stock Tip W - Display Who is Currently On-Line and Playing Stock Market THE BIG BOARD: Here you can view all the different Companies that are available. Also listed are the current number of Shares available and the Price per Share. These prices will change whenever an update is done. Listed at the bottom is: Volume Traded and Price Index. The Volume Traded is the number of shares that have been bought or sold today. The Price Index is the NET change of all companies listed for sale. Both variables show the current days stats and are reset at midnight. YOUR PORTFOLIO: This is where you may view a break-down of your individual investments. All stocks owned, the number of shares and the amount of cash you have available. Listed next to shares owned is the NET change for that company since midnight. If at any time your cash falls below $-1500.00 you MUST sell off enough assets to satisfy the debt or your seat will be lost when you leave. LIST INVESTORS/NET-WORTH: This is a list of ALL investors and their current Net-Worth. All players are listed in the order in which they were admitted to the Stock Market. CHECK A COMPANY/SHARE-HOLDERS: This option will allow you to view each individual company and see who has invested in it and how many shares they own. Listed across the bottom is the net change in price of that companys stock. VISIT YOUR BROKER: Here you may buy and sell your stocks. Please note: there is a 5% Brokers Fee for all transactions. There is NO minimum amount that must be transfered when buying or selling. You may invest in all 10 of the companies with no limit to the number of shares owned for each. UPDATE STOCK PRICES: You may do ONLY one update per call. An update will bring the BIG BOARD to current status, adjusting all prices accordingly. All dividends (if any) will be paid at this time. Dividends are added to your cash account and are paid to ALL stockholders of that company regardless of who does the update. Any player that leaves the stock market without doing an update will have it done automatically. STOCK MARKET NEWS: The news option will show you any major events that took place in the last two days. Any dividends that are paid get recorded here, along with any players that lost their seats and when a new game is started. While that covers all the Menu options, from time to time you will also see various NOTICES. Some are beneficial, others may cost you money. I'd like to thank the people who originally wrote the COLOR64 STOCK MARKET for the idea for this program. Stock Market now supports multiple players; several people can play at the same time. This adds a few new "twists" to the game.
