But now... @endnode @node int "LChecker 2.1 Amigaguide Document" LChecker is a handy little utility to quickly check your lottery numbers every week. It has a nice 8 Colour interface (MWB) and can store up to 50 rows of numbers (as Tooltypes). It also has a very useful AutoStart function so that you don't have to wait for your Amiga to boot up in order to check your numbers. I included this because LC is meant as a time-saving utility, but if you had to wait ages after each draw before using it, then it would be defeating the object! Hmmm, you do have to be a little careful when using AutoStart though, so read 'Usage-AutoStart' first. Don't worry, it won't wipe your HD or anything, but you may find that LC doesn't start when you want it to, and starts when you don't, if you don't follow the instructions carefully. I have made LC GIFTWARE because I put a fair amount of work into it, but it isn't an essential addition to your HardDrive. Just send me a choccy bar or something. I think that everyone should get a copy of this off Aminet (where else!) and then...(SHOCK)... register it!! It really is THE BEST screensaver around and well worth the $15. I registered, and got a very nice letter back, along with a great piece of software. Look, just try it out okay, and see if you don't fall in love with the wonderful interface (MUI), beautiful Dimmer function (select the Dim colour!), vast array of options (musical blankers anyone?) and, of course, the World Famous (well, it should be :) Stars blanker (shifts, turns, reverse...)! Furthermore, you can also import other blanker types into MadHouse too! Go on, try it out... Otherwise, things won't be as pretty as they should be. Okay then, are you ready for this: 1: Make a drawer for LChecker. 2: Copy LChecker2.1 to this drawer. 3: Copy LChecker2.1.info to this drawer. 4: Copy LC2.S to this drawer. 5: ...er... 6: That's it! 7: No, really. 8: I'm serious!! Even easier, when you unpack the LChecker.LHA archive, a nice drawer will be created for you, with all of the files in it! There are actually a couple of rules to follow. Firstly, LChecker MUST have an icon. Secondly, you can rename the LChecker program, but DO NOT rename LC2.S! Finally, keep LC2.S in the same drawer as LChecker2.1. If you fail to do any of this then LChecker will inform you, and then quit. Can you handle all that? Good! To do this check that LC is in Alter mode: @{b}If there is a cross next to the 'Alter' button, then click on 'Alter'. @{ub} Now look at the box in the bottom left. This tells you the current row number. Now move to whichever row number you want to change. LC can store 50 different rows! @{b}Press the arrow gadgets to scroll up and down the rows. Click on the left hand column of (!) buttons to quickly select a visible row. @{ub} Now enter one of your rows of numbers into LCheckers database, using the 49 'ball' gadgets on the right: @{b}Click on the 6 numbered balls that represent your line. They will appear in the selected row on the left of the screen. @{ub} Repeat this process for all of your lines. Now click on 'Save' to save your lines as Tooltypes in LChecker's icon. This will represent the winning Bonus Ball for this weeks numbers. @{b}Click on another gadget. A small 'b' will appear next to it. @{ub} Now scroll through your list of numbers that you entered earlier. The display on the right will indicate when one or more balls match, and will give you the subtotal on the right of each row. Workbench: If selected, LC will open its window on the Workbench. Otherwise, it will open its own HiRes Laced screen. This will be ignored if the Workbench screen has too few colours ( Colours<8 ). Centre: If selected, LC will centre its window on the current screen. WinX=?: {Tooltype Only} This contains the X offset of LC's window. Ignored if 'Centre' is set. WinY=?: {Tooltype Only} Oh, c'mon. Work it out! :) FastQuit: If selected, LC won't bring up a requester before quitting. Note: If you set these preferences via the Menu in LC itself, do not forget to click 'Save'. This will save the window position also, unless you have the 'Centre' option selected. @{"-> AutoStart Function" Link u-ats} @endnode @node u-ats "LChecker 2.1 Amigaguide Document" Read this section carefully before setting the AutoStart functions. The AutoStart function allows you to automatically start LChecker at the beginning of your Startup-Sequence, so you don't have to wait around for your computer to bootup before checking your numbers. In order to use the AutoStart function, you must modify your Startup-Sequence. The following line is best placed early on in the Startup-Sequence, but you must make sure that ENV: and ENVARC: are set up before it is run: @{b}/LChecker2.1@{ub} DO NOT start it with a 'Run >nil:', or the Startup-Sequence will just carry on while you are checking your numbers. Could cause problems...?! If you use SysPic or similar, then run LC before that. Okay then, now all you have to do is set the Tooltypes. Simply activate the days when you want LC to AutoStart (eg: 'SATURDAY' and 'WEDNESDAY'), and then set the time IN 24 HOUR FORMAT WITH NO COLON ETC. that you want LC to start after. Confused? Okay, some examples:- Lets say that you set the 'SATURDAY' Tooltype at '1955' (ie: 7:55pm). Now, Day: Friday.........................................LChecker DOES NOT start. Day: Saturday BootupTime: 7:35pm...................LChecker DOES NOT start. Day: Saturday BootupTime: 8:05pm...................LChecker STARTS. After this bootup, you then reboot again: Day: Saturday BootupTime: 8:15pm...................LChecker DOES NOT start. There are three conditions to this working properly: 1: Do NOT touch 'ENV:LCRan' 2: Do NOT touch 'ENVARC:LCDone' 3: You don't boot up your computer on Saturday at 8:05 (for example) and then only boot again next Saturday after 7:55pm. In this case LC will not AutoStart. But what are the chances of that happening?!! The AutoStart function is good in that it won't AutoStart if the day is not the same as any of the set Tooltypes, or if the time is less than the value of the day's tooltype. However, after bootup you can still start LC manually, without problems. If there is a bug in LChecker, it will probably be in this function, so please report any problems that you find. Give precise details or I may not be able to help! Of course, maybe I'll be lucky and it will work fine...
