Documentation for Talktime V1.00 - YourWare - R.Ruck

  <<<--"Does exactly what it says in the docs"-->>>

Disclaimer
==========

I make no promises to the validity, reliablility and integrity of this
software. Use it at your own risk, any damage caused by it is not my fault,
it is yours.

What is it ?
============

Talktime as you may have guessed from the deceptively simple title is a
talking clock.

Why ?
=====

I wrote this initially to extend my programming knowledge, mainly in the
device and library department. It has now dawned on me how it could be
useful for those who have difficulty reading the small font of the clock
and cannot be bothered to change it.

How ?
=====

Amazingly simple really, just type the filename.

A word of advice though, if you are thinking about giving it an icon and
running it from workbench, sorry not possible. I have yet to learn how to
do this =(

The way in which I use this is simple. I use a launcher, Launchpad, and use
the execute as CLI option, which makes it work fine. And because of my
huge generosity, I have included an icon for just such an eventuality.

Requirements
============

A battery backed clock (this is pretty useless without it)

Narrator.library = Any version as far as I know.
Translator.library = Again, any version as far as I know.

Bugs !
======

I don't know of any bugs.

Although at writing I have yet to test it for the millenium bug, dum, dum,
dduumm. I do though doubt that it will be affected, as

A.) I wrote it (modesty)
B.) Its meant to work on a stable Amiga, not an erratic
    Micro$oft ridden PC(bleurgh).
C.) It uses hour and minute, not dates, hurrah !

Should you have any bug reports or suggestions tell them to me via
email(see below).

Me, you know, the author
========================

I inhabit Boston, situated in the picturesque, desolate and boring county
of Lincolnshire, England. At writing I am 19, yeah I cannot believe it
either, I'll soon be saying "In my day.." and "Hmm, nice cardigan".

I have just completed a BTEC National Diploma In Computing, which after two
years doesnt seem like such a waste of time, well not quite anyway :)

I have also just started my degree in Computing science, which I must say
is turning out to be incredibly hard =(

Should anyone wish to contact me I can be reached at bobruk@mindless.com,
valid Sep 1997 - July 2000, women especially welcome =).

I occassionally manage to get on IRC, very occassionally though. Should you
wish to search for me, I usually wander around #amiga_warez on GalaxyNet as
^^Bob^. Although if you wish to talk urgently you need to mail me.
