Ateo-Grafikkarte für A 1200T soll in Kürze erscheinenDer französische Hardware-Hersteller Ateo Concepts will in Kürze eine Grafikkarte für A 1200-Towerumbauten auf den Markt bringen:
Ateo concepts is currently working on a high performances graphic card for the A1200. This card will be available in September/October of 1997. The RTG software we've choosen is Picasso96 for its modular concept. This graphic card is based upon the graphical chipset GD5434 from Cirrus Logic. It'll be shipped with a new design expansion bus. For space reasons, only tower A1200 will be ready to accept this combinaison. Why "High performances" The expansion bus that is currently under heavy testing will be capable to support a data-flow considerably higher than the actual ZorroIII bus, that is available in the A3000 and A4000. What else ... The expansion bus will sure be AutoConfig, as the ZorroII and ZorroIII are, and will allow the addition of other types of cards : Sound cards, SCSI cards, I/O (serial/parallel) cards. All these cards will be available for only some hundred of french francs (no more than $100). Yeah... Concerning the graphic card, Ateo Concepts is already planning the developpment of add-on cards like MPEG realtime decoding, TV tuner, FlickFixer etc. ... An the price ? The real price is not fixed yet, BUT the range will be around 1500 French Francs (around $250-$300). An what is the state of this project ? Good question indeed ! For the moment, the first prototype is in heavy testing, as we said before. The first BETA tests will certainly proceed in August.
