2 ... Requirements. |
--------------------'

This programme requires MAXs BBS v1.52 or greater. [It may work on lower
versions, I really wouldn't know].

Should work on 68000+ processors. [i have tried it on a 68000 and a 68030
with no troubles].

It _should_ work on Workbench 1.3 machines but I have only tested it on 2.x
and 3.x.

3 ... About. |
-------------'

One thing I found mildly annoying about both KFB and KWALL was the fact
that when A user got deleted in the MAXs User.data the users files for both
KFB and DFB were still there. Not much of a drama really since they are not
really big, but annoying none-the-less. So I sat down and did this small
(1.24k in size) programme to fix this problem.

It will delete _ALL_ the users in your KFB:USERS/ and KWALL directories
that are not present in your MAXsBBS User files.

As you can see, nothing great, but it cuts down on tedious system
maintenance time and hopefully help you to retain your sanity ;) (Your a SysOp
and SysOps are slightly nuts to start off with).

-------------.
4 ... Usage. |
-------------'

Dead easy to use. All you have to do is type in RemoveDead and 1 of 2
paramaters, KFB or KWALL. So;

RemoveDead KFB

Will delete all the dead users in KFB:USERS/ that are no longer present on
your system.

RemoveDead KWALL will delete all the dead user in KWALL: that are no longer
present on your system.

If for some reason you somehow (As hard as it is) forget the two available
paramaters for RemoveDead, entering anything but KFB or KWALL or even
entering no paramater at all, will bring up the usage template.

Other Twisted Logic Inc Productions. |
-------------------------------------'

Following is a list of other programmes released under the Twisted Logic
Inc. name including latest version number (since this release) and a short
discription of each.

TotalFiles - Version 1.01

CLI/Shell programme for MAXsBBS using DFB that will find all the %C total file
autoinserts in a text file and replace that with the actual number of total
files find in your dfb.data

MSD [MAXs Security Door] - Version 1.1

One of the best [if I may say so myself] security doors you can get for
MAXs. Also highly configurable with such options as password, texts to be
displayed, user allowed and a logfile for incorrect password attempts. All
definable by the SysOp of course!

Remove Dead - Version 1.0

Small DOS programme [~1.2k] for removing for deleting user files that KFB
and KWALL use, when the user no longer has an account on your BBS.
Paramater driven.

[Your looking at the Docs for it! :) ].

DFB UserStas - Version 1.0ß

Lets a user list _ALL_ of their user information [eg. Uploads/Downloads
etc] on BBS's using DFB [Dynamic File Base] which also allows the use of
MAXs auto inserts.

New Name - Version 1.0

Ever have users asking to have their name changed on your BBS and then asking
you whether they will still be able to read their old Private mail or replies
to messages they wrote with their old name ? Then this small Shell/CLI
programme is for you. It will go through your message.data and change all
messages addressed to and from the old user name to the new user name.

------------------------'

Because KWALL requires two files in it's directory called _WallData and
_WallDex to function, any file RemoveDead finds in the directory it is
working on that starts with a _ will be ignored. So if you are like me and
keep the docs of say KWALL in your KWALL: directory just put a _ in front
of it and it will be left alone.

It also assumes that your user files for MAXsBBS are in BBS:UserFiles.

Released on the 5/7/1996.
