Twisted Logic Inc. presents MAX's Security Door Version 1.1b 1 ... Disclaimer. 2 ... Requirements. 3 ... About. 4 ... Configuration. 5 ... Other Twisted Logic Inc. Releases. 6 ... Notes/Contacting. ------------------. 1 ... Disclaimer. | ------------------' The author of this programme takes no responsibility for any damage that may occur from the use of this programme. This programme and its documentation may not be modified in any way what so ever! This programme and it's documentation are copyright, all rights reserved. --------------------. 2 ... Requirements. | --------------------' This programme requires MAXs BBS v1.52 or greater. [It may work on lower versions, I really wouldn't know]. Should work on 68000+ processors. [i have tried it on a 68000 and a 68030 with no troubles]. It _should_ work on Workbench 1.3 machines but I have only tested it on 2.1/3.0 and 3.1 machines. Also requires basic intelligence to set up. -------------. 3 ... About. | -------------' Simply put, this programme is a security door door for MAXs. Which has some fairly funky options to be configured by the SysOp. ---------------------. 4 ... Configuration. | ---------------------' A typical configuration file will look something like this. --------------8<----------- 002 Doors:MSDPassword.text password Doors:MSDWrong.text Doors:MSDMenu.text Prowler Souri --------------8<----------- Line 1 is the menu number you wish to jump to. To find out what the menu number you wish to jump to is, look in your pull down menu "Configure/Menus" and find the menu you are after, it should have the "Menu #" in the top left hand corner. You _MUST_ include this! Please note. The number _MUST_ have _THREE_ numbers! [Like in the above example], otherwise the world will implode upon itself! Oh and most likely not work either. Line 2 is the path and file name for the password prompt text to show the user when asking for the password. If you do not wish to use a password, just use a "-" [dash]. Line 3 is the line for a password you want to use. The password is _CASE SENSITIVE_, what this means is if all the letters are lower case, and the user enters all letters in upper case, it is counted as wrong. So, the input for the password _MUST_ be exactly the same as what you have in the config file. Again, to leave out a password check, just replace it with a "-" [dash]. NB. Passwords can be no greater than 20 characters in length! Line 4 is the path and file name for a log file of all wrongly attempted passwords to be saved to. If you do not want this feature, just disable it with a "-" [dash]. Line 5 is the path and file name for some text you may wish to display just before the user enters the new menu. You can leave this out with a "-" [dash] if you don't want to display one. Line 6 and onwards are the users you want to have access to the menu you are jumping to. You _MUST_ include this! It is, like the password, case sensitive! In your menu set up, you should also have something like this: Key Func Filename/Name/Dest/Path S 34 ?? ?? ?? Doors:MSD Doors:MSD.cfg Run it as a normal door but also add the path to your configuration file. In this way, you can use this door more than once. Have a go. NB. You _MUST_ include a path to the configuration file. -----------------------------------------. 5 ... Other Twisted Logic Inc. Releases. | -----------------------------------------' Below is a list of other Doors/Programmes released under the Twisted Logic Inc. Name, along with the latest version number [since this release] and a small description of what they do. MSD [MAXs Security Door] - Version 1.1 Yup, this is it! Remove Dead - Version 1.0 Small DOS programme [~1.2k] for eleting user files that KFB nd KWALL use, when the user no longer has an account on your BBS. Paramater driven. DFB UserStas - Version 1.0ß Lets a user list _ALL_ of their user information [eg. Uploads/Downloads etc] on BBS's using DFB [Dynamic File Base] which also allows the use of MAXs auto inserts. ------------------------. 6 ... Notes/Contacting. | ------------------------' The security door executable is 3436 bytes in size, if it is different in size to this, do not use it. If you want to make sure you are getting a copy of the door that hasn't been played with, you can get it from my BBS [Twisted Dreams], or if you see me around [I am sometimes in #Amiga] just ask me for a copy. I have had this door running on my BBS for the last 9-12 months with no problems at all. I have just been to lazy to release the thing. Writing docs really suck! If you want to pause the text showen before the user enters the new menu, just use the MAXs auto insert %Z. Also, when using the password option, it echos back "." [full stops]. Released on the 22/10/1996. If you have any troubles with this door, have any ideas for other doors, or use this door, please contact me. Snail Mail: P.O.
