It should run on all OS 2+ Amigas. @endnode @node inst "Installation" To install this fine proggy to your system just copy the files Amiscan.exe and AmDir.List to the drawer where you would like the configs to reside. @endnode @node why "Do I need this Program?" Do you run Maxs BBS? Have one of the Aminet CD-ROMs online? If the answer is no to the above questions then, no you don't need it. Otherwise, read on: To be frank, typing up the config file to put one of the Aminet CDs onto Maxs is a complete nightmare, this program will take all the hassle out of it. @endnode @node how "How do I use It?" Simple ,make sure that the Aminet CD you wish to create a config file for is in the drive, and run the program. You have to enter the name of the CD, eg. Aminet8 or Aminet8: The colon is optional. Enter the number of the Aminet CD into the number gadget. For the above example you would enter 8, for the early Aminets you would put the full title of the CD into the title string. eg. Aminet07_94: (this was the third cd in the Aminet series) and enter 3 into the number gadget. There is a cycle gadget which has three options CDROM Door, Kewl CD and Kewl CD PRO. Select The format for the cd rom door you use, (Kewl CD Pro is the only real choice!) and then click on . The program will automatically scan the Aminet CD and create your config file. This is saved into the same drawer as the executable. The Kewl CD Pro option is for the full release of Kewl CD Pro. Users Of the beta test version use the KEWL CD option or UPGRADE (Kewl CD Pro is availible on the Aminet). @{"Piccy" SYSTEM "sys:utilities/multiview Amiscan2.pic SCREEN"} New to v2.0 of AmiScan is an external text file containing all the current directories of the Aminet. This is essential for the correct operation of Amiscan. When new directories appear on the Aminet just edit the file [AmDir.List] The format is quite simple. Each directory has 2 lines, the first is the dir name eg. biz/dbase. The second is the name you would like to appear on your BBS. eg.Database Utils. This file must reside in the same dir as the executable. @endnode @node who "Who wrote this fine proggy?"
