Here the user can specify limitations upon MailWatch's normal behaviour:

Wait after notify

You can specify a period of inactivity after the file has changed. While this file is being 'ignored', MailWatch will not react to any changes in the size of the file.

Minimum/maximum filesize change margins

If either or both of these is given a value greater than zero, any change in the size of the file being watched that is not within the margins defined here will not register as a change. No icon refresh, no action. The filesize is stored anew, though, and the next calculation for the range will be determined from this new filesize. Giving a value of 0 for either means that there is no minimum or maximum margin, and a value of 0 for both means that these margins are not in operation.

Start disabled

Check this if you want this particular icon to start disabled. The only way of toggling individual icons on/off while the program is running is via its ARexx port.

Act only on state change?

If this gadget is set to true, MailWatch will not execute the action for a state when the change is from one state to the same state, e.g. MailWatch already shows 'New Mail' and the file gets bigger, or MailWatch shows 'Old Mail' and the file gets smaller.

Existing file = 'New'?

The setting of this check-gadget determines whether pre-existing files (files which are already in place when the program starts) are shown as 'Old' or 'New'.

AmigaElm mode

This setting is intended to cope with those mail programs that make small changes to the files that they store, for example the addition of a Status: header (AmigaElm). If this gadget is checked, an increase in file size that is under the specified minimum size limit will force the program to change state to 'Old'.
