Short: Amiga Worldwide Atomic Clock Synchronizer V2.0 Author: chufarj@telepath.com (John Chufar) Uploader: chufarj@telepath.com (John Chufar) Type: comm/misc Replaces: Atomic1_5 Installation: 1 step 1) Execute script "installscript" at command line > execute installscript Requirements: 1) AmiTCP: or Miami TCP - requires TCP: device) 2) AmigaDOS 3.x or greater (env:Locale.prefs file used) 3) ARexx Operation: 1) Edit configuration file (s:atomic.conf) 1) Start TCP program (AmiTCP or MIAMI) 2) Start ARexx (Normal for "Most" Amigas) 3) At the shell prompt, type: >s:atomic.rexx -or- to OVERRIDE configuration file settings >atomic.rexx ayn (optional parameters-see doc file) 4) After a successful connection is made, your clock is set. 5) After the time is set, close the Tools Output window. Improvements - Uses a configuration file - Logs all server connections, connect time, etc. - Uses "intelliserve Technology" iT (see doc file) - Uses Server Health field - Automatically sets Daylight Savings or Standard Time - Uses 9 server redundancy to ensure connection Other Suggested Operations: 1) Add it to ToolsDaemon or similar "menu" program. 2) Add it to Events in Miami as follows: (Doing this automatically runs Atomic.rexx everytime you use Miami!) 1) Start Miami 2) Select "Events" 3) Select the "Online - Filename Box" and enter 's:atomic.rexx' 4) Select "Console name" box and enter: CON:2/10/600/300/Atomic Clock/AUTO/CLOSE This program is freeware, so if you use it please consider my time spent to set your time.
