What's new ? V1.10 [MAJOR UPDATE] New options : - 3 ways of sorting a list : * by the file name * by the TAG's songname * by the TAG's author - the Album TAG Mode : it allows you to TAG all MP3s of one album without having to reenter the author, album title ... - it can rename a file automatically using the songname of the TAG - it only displays the used fields of a TAG (that's to say, if the TAG has comment, it won't prompt "Comment :" - it has a Multiple Volume Mode (that's to say, you can list several CDs, Zips or whatever you have :) - it can print dots instead of white spaces (...... 03:18) Improvements : - the way of editing TAGs is really better - it can wisely truncate path+name to fit 66 characters (by printing a [...] in the middle of the line, so you have the complete name of the file) - the Force Mode can replace a file (you can use MPTool -F dh1:strangefile.mp3) - the Genres List can be sorted by name or number - the Genres List has been updated (145 genres) Bug fixes : - no more stack problem - it can use a genre number > 127 - it should be a little faster V1.11 [minor update] Improvements : - it should detect more MPEG files Bug fixes : - the total duration is displayed when using the comment option V1.12 [very minor update] Bug fixes : - while editing the 1.11, I added a stupid bug ... sorry the TAG reader is now fine, like in the 1.10 :) 1. Introduction : Purpose : It lists, adds TAGs, edits TAGs, converts, cleans, gives the duration of your MP3 (MPEG Audio) files. Release date : 11.09.98 Distribution : It's free :) (you can't ask money for it) C source available if you ask it :) 2. Installation : Copy the MPTool file wherever you like ... Copy the genre file (MPTool.Genres) in c: or in the current directory in DOpus ( © J. Potter ) : MPTool -RL {F} or MPTool -RLC {F} if you want some comments 3. How does it work ? It uses the same way of calculating MP3 length than Stephane Tavenard's MPEGA ( hope it works fine ;) since I have no doc on how to classify MPEGs ... MPTool scans dirs (files or volumes), selects MPEG files and calculates the duration of those files. When it has finished his job, it gives you the total duration of ALL files it has listed ... It can scan your whole hard disk to find MPEG files !! That's one of its 23 options ... ============================= Archive contents ============================= Original Packed Ratio Date Time Name -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- ------------- 12392 7675 38.0% 08-Sep-98 19:25:22 +CheckCD 1107 533 51.8% 08-Sep-98 19:28:02 +CheckCD.ReadMe 15096 7915 47.5% 09-Sep-98 16:46:28 +DJMPTool 4223 1546 63.3% 09-Sep-98 16:48:44 +DJMPTool.ReadMe 12124 7470 38.3% 31-Aug-98 13:13:12 +LookFile 1144 584 48.9% 31-Aug-98 13:13:12 +LookFile.ReadMe 31516 17141 45.6% 11-Sep-98 13:00:48 +MPTool 1905 1078 43.4% 31-Aug-98 13:13:12 +MPTool.Genres 87895 20375 76.8% 11-Sep-98 13:04:54 +MPTool.Guide 3938 1570 60.1% 11-Sep-98 13:02:44 +MPTool.ReadMe -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- 171340 65887 61.5% 26-Sep-98 20:02:08 10 files
