IMPORTANT: Digital Almanac 39.26 requires the unpacked data archive of "DAlmanac_Data.lha" 39.12 !! The large star database in the extra archive is for registered users only !! This exe-archive contains an extra installer script for installing the data archive. For complete installation, follow these steps: * Download both archives. * Unpack the exe archive. * Start the exe installer. * Start the data installer. A French catalog is available, but not a French documentation, because I don't speak French :-). The French installer script is only partly in French ! INTRODUCTION: Digital Almanac is one of the best programs for hobby astronomers and professionals available for the Amiga ! It offers: * Star database with ca. 500,000 stars up to 16m. * Cross-index for SAO, PPM, HD, YBS und GC catalogs. * About 40000 deep sky objects (Messier, NGC, IC, UGC, Abell, Zwicky and other misc objects). * More than 40000 minor planets and asteroids as well as the Comets Halley, Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp. * Highly accurate calculation of Moon and planets with JPL's integration tables (DE404). Accuracy partly <0.1'' over a period of some thousand years !! * Moons of Jupiter and Saturn. * Textures for planets Venus to Pluto, Moon and Galilean Moons. * Milky way structure. * View the sky from any solar system object. * Animation mode (also saving in IFF-ANIM format !!). * Loading and saving of configuration files. * Highly optimized algorithms for maximum speed, mostly written in assembler. * Lots of configuration possibilities. * Online and menu help with HELP-key and MUI's bubblehelp. * Full Drag&Drop support. * Creation and export of ephemeris tables. * CyberGraphX High- and Truecolor mode support. * Picture galery creation. * User editable database of orbital elements. * Recognizes CPU for maximum speed. And of course lots of bug fixes made in the previous versions. Included in the archive are two project files of a solar and a lunar eclipse ready to watch ! THIS PROGRAM IS SHAREWARE! Following features are restricted for non registered users: * Deep-sky catalog access limited to the Messier catalog. * All saving functions are disabled. * No hardcopy. * No changing site to a different planet, only Earth enabled. * No detailed course of eclipses. * No picture galery. * Plotting stars only to 6m. * Plotting other objects only to 10m. * No changing of pixelsize. * No events in the calendar. * Ephemeris export only to a window. * The program will terminate after 20 min and all 5 min a requester will appear. Lots of messages during startup appeared incorrect. * Disables additional gadgets when site is not Earth. * Added tooltype CLOSEWB. Saves ChipMem for AGA users. * Entries of all lists are now draggable. * Improved ephemeris output. Distances less than 10 million km are displayed in km (mi), not AU. * Slightly changed menu layout (more standard). * When an asteroid has no defined diameter, it will be estimated from its absolute magnitude. * Updated asteroid database. Contains 42239 entries and is now handled dynamically. Main program does not need to be reprogrammed. * Improved asteroid ephemeris. More information on diameter and orbit. * More security checks. Program will run, even if certain files are missing. * The tooltypes SCACHE and ACACHE are replaced by CACHE. This gives the user more control about memory consumption. * Animation can now trace any object. * Drag&Drop code rewritten and fixed many bugs from it. * This forced a structure change in project file. They are no more 100% compatible to previous versions, but they depend less on current installed datas ! * User files are moved to their own directory called 'User'. This simplyfies an update. * New font Astro_Fix/11. * Ephemeris output uses larger font Astro/11 to improve readability at higher resolutions. * Map automatically uses larger font at resolutions higher than 800*600. * Export mode didn't recognize magnitude extinction. * New aspect ratio calculation.
