Short: Amiga Worldwide Atomic Clock Synchronizer Author: chufarj@telepath.com (John Chufar) Uploader: chufarj@telepath.com (John Chufar) Type: comm/misc Replaces: AtomiClock Installation: 3 easy steps 1) Copy atomic.rexx to your s: drawer. 2) Set the 'script' bit on atomic.rexx at shell prompt, with: >protect s:atomic.rexx +s Requirements: 1) AmiTCP: or Miami TCP - requires TCP: device) 2) AmigaDOS 3.x or greater (env:Locale.prefs file used) 3) ARexx Operation: 1) Start AmiTCP: 2) Start Rexx 3) At the shell prompt, type: >atomic.rexx y (in summer - sets it up for DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME-DST) -or- >atomic.rexx n (in winter - sets it up for NO DAYLIGHT SAVINGS) 4) After a successful connection is made, your clock is set. 5) After the time is set, close the Tools Output window. Improvements - Converted AtomiColock to ALL AREXX - Added time differences to show how much your system clock DID change - Pseudo-compensates for program time to calulate 'error' - Uses ARGS to prevent y / n DST answer during operation - Still retains interactive mode if you leave off the ARG i.e. >atomic.rexx then the program asks you if you want DST adjustment Other Suggested Operations: 1) Make an Icon for it. 2) Add it to ToolsPrefs or similar "menu" program.
