DIRU v1.0 (March 30th, 2001) Copyright (c)2001 Daniel Mealha Cabrita (dancab@iname.com) This program is under the terms of GNU General Public License (read documentation for details). DIRU's website at http://members.xoom.com/dancab/diru/ Usage: diru [r|e] Examples: diru r sobaka diru e book diru some_english_or_russian_word This program is a English-Russian-English dictionary which uses the following database (available freely in Internet) for its queryings: English-Russian Dictionary by Professor V.K.Mueller, 24-th Revised Edition; Moscow, "Russky Yazyk", 1995; Electronic Version by "Palek", 1998; Electronic Version for Unix by E.S.Cymbalyuk 1999, ver. 1.6, see latest version on www.chat.ru/~mueller_dic or www.geocities.com/mueller_dic The database is meant for a English -> Russian dictionary, but DIRU has also routines for Russian -> English querying. Such querying results are not so rich as the conventional English -> Russian (specially because they don't present the words in order of importance) but they're good enough for most cases. DIRU's source code is organized such way to make easy to use its query routines by other programs, just drop the main() thing and develop a prettier version of this dictionary.
