Short: EGS-TV-Player plays Video sequences on all EGS boards Author: hhoff@pool.informatik.rwth-aachen.de (Helmut Hoffmann) Uploader: hhoff@pool.informatik.rwth-aachen.de (Helmut Hoffmann) Type: gfx/misc EGS-TV-Player Version 1.0 (c) by Helmut Hoffmann ============= This is the first public version of a video sequence player program for the EGS graphic system. Please note that there are currently some limitations, which will be gone in the next release. * EGS-TV-Player shows all sequences in the EGS-TV-Sequence format direct from hard disk. The memory usage is very low this way (also memory is needed to hold a frame in full size as loaded and in converted form for EGS). * In the current version it shows sequences only in grey-scales (but it also accepts color sequences). Showing sequences in color would not need much more time. The next release will contain the necessary color decoding. * EGS-TV-Player does not depend on the vlab.library. * EGS-TV-Player accepts a file name as argument when started from CLI or pops up a file requester when started from workbench or without CLI parameter. * EGS-TV-Player shows the sequence in a loop, until the close button of the window is pressed. * EGS-TV-Player runs in a window on the EGS-Default-Screen. * You can run several ESG-TV-Players at the same time. * Please note that EGS-TV-Player runs fastest on 24Bit-Screens although it currently uses only greyscales. This is because the EGS-System dithers on lower screen depths, which takes lots (!) of time. A demo sequence called RubbersInNorway.seq is supplied in the archive. This is a 30 frame greyscale sequence generated with *** EGS-TV *** the ultimate Video Editing, DeskTopVideo, Blue-Box-Effect and Framegrabber software for the EGS graphic system and VLab-framegrabbers. It shows a standard rubber flying through a Norwegian landscape. This has been done with the blue box effect. Please note the passage at the end of the sequence, where you can see the rubber two times concurrently. This has been done by applying the blue box effect a second time. With this technic any number of new foreground layers can be applied to a background sequence. For more information, take a look at EGS-TV. EGS-TV is shareware, the professional version (including harddisk recording) can be registered for only 30US$ (in europe: 40DM). To generate sequences, which fit into your memory, you can also use the classical version of EGS-TV, which only costs 20US$ (in europe: 25DM). Disclaimer ========== I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas and EGS-Systems, I can not guarantee that this software will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or explained them in the documentation. This software (program and documentation) is provided "as is" and comes with no warranty, either expressed or implied. The author is in no way responsible for any damage or loss that may occur due to direct or indirect usage of this software. You use this software entirely at your own risk.
