@NODE Introduction

@{u}What?@{uu}

    A fortune cookie program for your pleasure. Smartass contains
more than 66200 different cookies. Murphy's laws, Devil's Dictionary,
myths, jokes, computer mimics to stories, AI Hacker's Dictionary and
not to forget - quotes from famous people.

@{u}How?@{uu}

    Smartass puts text to the Shell or opens a highly configurable
MUI window.

@{u}Why Smartass?@{uu}

    - Smartass uses MUI - which makes its appearance very configurable
    - Also supports output to the Shell
    - Very large cookie file (2.8 Meg crunched)
    - [Next] button: Go to the next cookie without having to reload
      the program.
    - Preparse possibilities: Display all cookies or origins in bold,
      italic, centered...
    - Save individual cookies to a file.
    - Optionally, the window can be made borderless, ie. no
      title, border and sizegadget will be displayed.
    - Possibility to disable the "Browse" buttons, the "Origin"
      area and the "Exit" gadget.

Smartass only has one major disadvantage: The data file is not user-configurable.

@NODE Tooltypes "Tooltypes"

@{b}@{u}Tooltypes@{uu}@{ub}

Using tooltypes is described in-depth in your Workbench manual.

@{u}· The SMARTASSFILE tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify the location and name of the Smartass cookie file.

@{u}· The COOKIE_PREPARSE tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify the look of the cookie text.
Possible options are BOLD, CENTER, HIGHLIGHT, ITALIC, LEFT, RIGHT, UNDERLINE,
they can also be combined.
Example: <COOKIE_PREPARSE>=BOLD|CENTER>

@{u}· The COOKIEFONT tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify the font in which the cookie text will be written.
Example: <helvetica.font>

@{u}· The COOKIEFONTSIZE tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify the size of the COOKIEFONT.
Example: <15>

@{u}· The EXIT tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify if the Exit button should be displayed.
Example: <BUTTON=FALSE>

@{u}· The NEXT tooltype@{uu}
Used to specify if the "Next" button should be displayed.

@{u}· The INNERBORDER tooltype@{uu}
When this tooltype is specified, Smartass will include a 9-pixel
border around the area where the cookie is displayed.

@{u}· The NOBORDER tooltype@{uu}
When this tooltype is specified, the Smartass window won't have a border,
a sizing gadget, a close gadget and a title anymore.

@{u}· The GOODREFRESH tooltype@{uu}
When this tooltype is specified, Smartass will use a different method
for updating the window when it jumps from one cookie to a new one.
This causes a visible updating of the window, but the window will then
have the same height, as the cookie requires.

- Apparently Smartass still produces some Enforcer hits.
  I'm working on it (which is hard, as I don't have an MMU)...

@{u}Planned features for the next version@{uu}

· Prefs program instead of setting tooltypes.
