This command makes an entire area.
That is, it appends to the superareafile and makes an areafile.
IF you make a mistake with this command, you can't just run it again, because
it would cause extreanous areas in the areafile.. You must delete the
superareafile and the areafiles and start all over.

This is somewhat clumsy... sorry!
