ADDENDUM TO THE MOVIEGUIDE PRO V2.0 DOC VERSION 2.1 ADDITIONS ===================== A new type of information has been added to version 2.1 of the program called TECHNICAL INFO. It contains various information on about 1/2 of the 27.000 titles in the system! The info can be divided into 5 categories: Cinematography ============== Information about the way the movie was shot/processed and printed: name of laboratory, length of negative in meters, the original negative format (e.g. 35mm Panavision), photographic process (e.g. 'anamorphic' if the movie was shot using anormorphic lenses), printed format and aspect ratio! Anamorphic lenses are used for shooting many films that are wider than the standard 1.85:1, e.g. CinemaScope. That way you can use the full resolution of the negative, and still get a wider image, when the film is projected using special lenses. A regular 1.85:1 movie is usually shot using a standard spherical lens, and then projected also using a spherical lens. Sound System ============ Shows which sound-systems the movie was made in. Don't be surprised if it says e.g. 'DTS, Dolby Stereo' - it means that two version of the movie were available to cinemas, the Digital Theatre System version and the regular Dolby Stereo version. A ',' seperates each sound system the movie exists in. Locations ========= Where was the movie shot? Find out here. Release Dates ============= Release dates - can be both theatrical release dates in various countries, as well as video/laserdisc release. If the last is the case, it'll state so. German Title ============ For German users (especially) this might come in handy. Soundtrack Info =============== Information about the soundtrack, if any songs were used in the film. The first line could look like this: '- Music: John Williams', and refers to the musical SCORE. The following lines will be about the movie's songs! WHERE TO FIND THIS INFO ======================= This information will turn up as a button in the 'Related Info' window just like trivia, goofs and quotes information - it shares the same output window as well! As a result of this new info beeing available, the menu item in the layout menu called 'Trivia/Goofs/Quotes' has changed to 'Misc. Information'! NEW SETUP OPTION ================ A new setup option in the SEARCH PREFS window has been added, called MISC. INFO - it toggles whether you want the program to automatically search for TRIVIA/GOOFS/QUOTES and TECHNICAL INFO, when setting up the RELATED INFO window. PRINTING ======== Printing has been updated to print out the new information - you'll have to configure in the PRINTER PREFS menu, as always.
