Now, this is a program to monitor YOUR activity. It counts mouse clicks, mouse moves and keystrokes. Features: * E source included * Only accepts *REAL* mouseclicks and -movements. Screen boundaries don't matter. * Commodity Installing the program ====================== This program does not need any assigns, environment variables etc. So you can try it without installing it. If you want to install it: * copy Activity, AStats, Activity.doc and, if you want, the source code. An Installer script is provided to do this for you. * change the tooltypes. When you start the program, a window will appear on your workbench screen, if you want it. You cannot start it more than once. When you start it a second time, the interface is opened. Always, even if you have CX_POPUP=NO. Other commodities this too! Unless you use FORMAT, the title reads: L(eft button):a R(ight button):b K(eyboard):c For the keyboard, qualifiers (for example shift) do not count. I don't add lame helptexts on the menus. You can press some keys in the window: * ESC, Q, H - Hide window * X - Exit the program * R - Reset counters to zero * A - Show "about" requester * S - Save window position (if started from WB) and counters * Help - Show "help" requester Tool types / cli args ===================== * CX_PRIORITY=number - start-priority (for WBStartup) * CX_POPUP=YES or NO - should the window open at startup? * CX_POPKEY=hotkey description - key to pop up window (Workbench only, default is control alt m) * X=number - x-coordinate of window * Y=number - y-coordinate of window * FORMAT=string - Title of window. The following format codes are supported: - %L - left mouse button - %R - right mouse button - %M - mouse move (not updated because it takes far too much CPU time) - %K - keyboard - %% - % sign Default: L:%L R:%R K:%K * FILE=filename - file for counters (Default: no file) * SAVETIME=number - Auto-save time, in seconds. (Default: no auto-save) The auto-save only saves the counters. All save-commands save the counters and the settings (currently only position of window). * QUITKEY=hotkey description - key to save counters and exit the program. This is for safety. If you save on harddisk, you should press this key just before you reboot. Otherwise it may corrupt your harddisk (rebooting while writing). The default is control lcommand m. AStats program ============== AStats is a simple program to show Activity STATisticS. It draws graphs of the four counters of Activity. It uses the save file of Activity. Give the filename as an argument. When you run AStats and Activity simultanaously, you can get a requester "Couldn't save counters". This happens when Activity wants to save the counters, but AStats has the file open. When this happens, press "Retry" when AStats is done. History ======= V2.0 26-Jan-1996 * Added save * Now uses less CPU time when window is hidden * Removed mouse-move updating: it took too much CPU time * Added a very simple statistics program * About and help requesters now open on the screen the window is on, not on the default public screen * More configurable: window title, window position V1.0 31-Dec-1995 Initial release My address is: E-mail: M.Tjoelker@mpn.cp.philips.com Snail-mail: J.
