INTRODUCTION

    OffMesser is an excellent tool for sysop's using AmiExpress. 

    Every time You normally scan letters You will have to login localy
   and use a global message scanner... Not anymore, because OffMesser
   allows You to scan for letters in any conference, delete, reply
   and post messages without having to login.

    The OffMesser opens on any public screen and the user-interface is
   constructed so that anyone can use it. Most of the gadget's responds
   to hotkeys as well.



DISCLAIMER

    There is no part in the program that has any intention to harm your
   system. But I can not be held responsible for any accidents due
   to missuse of OffMesser.



REGISTRATION

    This is a easy part. All functions that post a message is locked
   if You don't have a proper keyfile. The registration for the
   key file will cost You 50:- skr.

    To register call me, Jonas, at +46 40-89398 and I will inform You
   how to send the payment, and when I recieve it I will leave the
   keyfile at your board.



PLEASE NOTE

    OffMesser can be used at the same time as users are using /X, BUT
   if You are logged in as sysop, it is wise to have OffMesser in the
   iconified state.



INSTALLATION

    Place the program and it's icon anywhere You like, it doesn't matter.
   The info file called OMAPP.INFO should be placed in Your S: together
   with the keyfile (If You have one)

    Your amiexpress must be located at the assign BBS: otherwhise the
   program will fail. After that OffMess will find out itself
   where your conferences are located.



HOW TO USE IT

    There are three major functions:


   POST MESSAGE

       As the normal E command. You will be presented a list of the
      users, including ALL and EALL. Simply press on the desired one.

       Enter the subject as usual.

       When You enter the text, You can easily edit a proceding line
      by just clicking on it.

       With the cycle gadget You can at any time change between
      PUBLIC and PRIVATE message.
   
       When You are finished You press DONE, and if You change your mind,
      simply press abort.


   GLOBAL SCAN

       Enters every conference in the order that they appear in the icon. It
      works just like SCAN CONFERENCE with the exception that You can
      exit with the ABORT-button.
     

   SCAN CONFERENCE

       With the little button just to the right You can choose which
      conference to scan.

       The to buttons << and >> allows You to move forward or backward
      in this conference. The arrow-keys have the same function. Otherwhise
      You can jump directly to a message by entering it's number.

       The up and down arrow-keys functions as the buttons to the left.

       REPLY allows You to answer the message. First You are asked to
      enter the lines You want to quote. Either enter the lines by hand
      or click on the appropriate lines with the mouse. After that you
      go to the POST MESSAGE routine.

       DELETE has no shortkey. It does what it sounds to do.

       DONE exits the SCAN

   
   MINOR FUNCTIONS OF NOTE

       The window is quite big because everything had to fit. In the
      right bottom corner You will find a little button which will
      iconify OffMess, so You can have it running all the time.

       Whenever a user is currently in a conference messagebase, the
      program will halt until it can save safely. When this
      situation occurs You will be informed in the status row.

       The program takes for granted that You, the sysop, is
      the first user on the base (i.e. user.data). If not You
      must change this otherwhise the letters will be posted
      in the first name that occurs in the user.data.

       If You delete a headerfile and mailstats in a conference, You
      MUST replace those before scanning that peticular conference.



LAST WORD

    If You are a regular user of AmiExpress You will have no problem
   with using this program. My intention was to make it as similar
   as possible, and at the same time, a powerful tool.
