If you use this program frequently you should send a little gift to the author, address below. I hope you copy this document with the program itself. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM You can use Biorytmi to see biorhythms. The program calculates your biorhythm depending on day of birth and destination day and draws sin-waves for your physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities. Biorhythms are ancient description of strength of people's mind and body. You can print intresting biorhythms by using some utilities (more information of these at the end half of this file.) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Biorytmi needs very little to function: * KickStart 1.3 or newer * memory 512 KB or more * there must be fonts 'Biorytmi1' and 'Biorytmi2' in FONTS: If you start Biorytmi by using batch-file 'AmigaBiorytmi' assignment of FONTS: will be made automatically. Original assignment is restored when programs is quit. Workbench icon will execute this batch-file. STARTING THE PROGRAM You can start Biorytmi in a three different way: By command line (CLI) 1) [run] AmigaBiorytmi then batch-file is executed. It contains assignment of FONTS: and the day of birth (you can edit that day by usin some text editor.) 2) [run] Biorytmi [dd.mm.yy] 'Biorytmi1' and 'Biorytmi2' fonts MUST be in FONTS: You can give the day of birth in the command line e.g. 23.10.68. Note! The date is given in a european format; first day, then month and last year. If the date is not given, default date is 11.03.92. By Workbench 3) Doubleclick AmigaBiorytmi-icon. This will execute the batch-file. You can change the destination day by changing the internal clock of Amiga, e.g. >date 01-04-95. HOW TO USE BIORYTMI The picture below shows the places of buttons and their meanings. _______________________________________________________________ |____ ____ ____ ____ | ||___||___| |___||___|| | | | STRING GADGET | | | | | RESET | (no function) | | | QUIT _______________________________________________ ABOUT | | |______________________________________________| | | | | | | STARTS CALCULATION | | INCREASES THE NUMBERS | | | | ________ | | ++ ++ ++ |_______| ++ ++ ++ | | xx. xx. xx xxxxxxx xx. xx. xx | | -- -- -- | -- -- -- | | | STATUSINDICATOR | | DECREASES THE NUMBERS AND TIME DIFFERENCE.... | |______________________________________________________________| ****** QUIT - Just quits Biorytmi (and restores FONTS: as it was) ****** RESET - Initializes Biorytmi * clears biorythm-curves * clears STATUSINDICATOR and DAYS-field * removes big name and clears string gadget for new entry * DAY OF BIRTH is set to be one given at startup * DEST. DAY is set to be current day according to Amiga clock ****** ABOUT - Opens the about window. You can find the address of author here. The window closes when exit button at the left upper corner is pressed. ****** NAMEGADGET - Write title for the biorhythm (e.g. person's name) when yellow cursor is visible then press enter and name will be enlarged. If the cursor is not visible just click below the enlarged text and the cursor will appear. ****** INCREASING BUTTONS - Increases numbers below the buttons by one unit. When upper limit is reached the number will be initialized to the smallest one. ****** DECREASING BUTTONS - Decreases numbers above the buttons by one unit. When lower limit is reached the number will be initialized to the greatest one. ****** DAYS SPENT - Calculates difference between DAY OF BIRTH and DEST. DAY - Indicates amount of days - If dates are not valid errorstatus is printed in statusindicator - Starts drawing ****** STATUSINDICATOR - Indicates * difference of the destination day and the day of birth * ERROR! (if e.g. month is 13 or day is 47) * MINUS! (if the destination day is earlier than the day of birth) EXAMPLE OF USING BIORYTMI 1) You can change internal time of your Amiga (if you want to) - dh0:Biorytmi> DATE 20-05-92 2) Execute program - dh0:Biorytmi> run AmigaBiorytmi 'enter' - This batch file assigns FONTS: correctly and starts the program. The DAY OF BIRTH is defined in the batch file. 3) After Biorytmi has started - Write title for the biorhythm (yellow cursor waits...) - Press enter when ready - Change dates suitable for you by pressing little buttons above and below numbers (increasing and decreasing buttons.) - Select DAYS SPENT by clicking it by mouse pointer - Curves will be drawn - You can print the screen to the paper e.g. this way: * Start 'Fenster v2.2' (it can be found on the Fred Fish's PD disk number 362) * Select 'AMIGA-BIORYTMI' from screenlist and save that screen to the disk with option Save, IFF-ILBM * Start 'SeePix v4.0' (it can be found on the Fred Fish's PD disk number 785) * Load previously saved picture and select Print from Menus. The picture of Biorytmi will be printed. * Saved picture can be loaded also to (almost) any text- processing program or it can be modified with paint programs, e.g. DeLuxePaint. 4) Quitting the program - Press the leftmost box in the upper edge (QUIT button) BUGS!?! - I know two bugs * if FONTS: is multiassigned before Biorytmi is started, only first assignment is restored when Biorytmi is quit. * the date of DAY OF BIRTH can be 29.02. although the year is not the leap-year. In that case the curves will be exactly the same as drawn with the DAY OF BIRTH is 01.03. FUNCTIONALITY OF THE PROGRAM - This program is done by using SAS-C v6.3, A500, 230 MB harddisk, 1 MB Chip and 2 MB Fast memory. - Testing has been done with the following configurations: * A500 * KS 1.3 / KS 2.0 * WB 1.3 / WB 2.0 * HD ON / OFF * DF1: ON / OFF * FAST 0 / 1 / 2 MB * CHIP 0.5 / 1 MB - The program multitasks very well and no jamming has been encountered.
