Introduction
------------

MultiUser allows you to create a *IX-like environment where several users live
together  in harmony, unable to delete each others files, unable to read those
private  love-letters  of  other  users.   And  this even if several users are
working on the machine at the same time (on a terminal hooked up to the serial
port)

People without a valid login ID and password won't be able to access files you
have made private with MultiUser.  If you make all files private (not readable
for others), the only useful thing they could do, is boot from a floppy.

This  archive  contains  a fix for a dangerous bug in the MultiUserFileSystem.
In  case  the  validation  of  a partition failed under pre-3.0, your computer
crashed   instead   of   showing   a  requester.   Now  all  versions  of  the
MultiUserFileSystem  should  work  under  2.04  or higher (and even under 1.3,
although you can't login then :-).

reporting this nasty bug!

MultiUser Release 1.7a is distributed in 5 archives:

   MultiUser17_bin.lha:   Basic MultiUser package (your really need this!)
   MultiUser17_ext.lha:   External utilities
   MultiUser17_api.lha:   Include files, autodoc, etc...
   MultiUser17_src.lha:   Source for the library and support commands
   MultiUser17a.lha:      Update from Release 1.7 to Release 1.7a

Users of MultiUser Release 1.7 need only the new archive MultiUser17a.lha.

For  more information about MultiUser (disclaimer, distributability, usage,
etc...),  read  the  documentation  file  'MultiUser.doc'  in  the  archive
'MultiUser17_bin.lha'.
