Hi. How ya doin'? So much for the introduction. Go to the next para-
graph please..

For God's sake, WHY!?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, as I don't have unlimited cash, I can't use up the phone
for too long.. And if I saw a file I liked, I was always wondering
how long it would take to download or upload it.. That's where my
program comes in...
Oh, and yeah, I never really could remember all those v22, v32 stuff
so I made something for it too..



So how does it work then!?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using I.D.Baud from the CLI/Shell:
    Just type "<dir>I.D.Baud1.4GT" and that's it.. (<dir> is the
    directory where I.D.Baud lives)
Using I.D.Baud from the Workbench:
    Just click on da icon!

NOTE: If you have one window active, you cannot select another
    function!

The gadgets:

[BaudCalc]
    Click on a baudrate.. You can specify one using [Other].
    Specify the length of the file in question in BYTES.
    Clicking on [<< Clear] will clear the textfields.
    Clicking on [Quit Back] will return you to the main menu.
    You can specify a file using [Get File..].. I.D.Baud will
    automatically put it's size in the sizebox. You can't
    change the filename in the namebox itself.
    Clicking on [Print] will give you a short printout.

[V-Expressions]
    You can click on any gadget you like, and the description
    will appear..
    Clicking on [Quit Back] will return you to the main menu.
    
[Configure!]
    You can enter your name and modem brand and clear the
    textfields using the [<< Clear] gadgets.
    You may then specify your default baudrate and you can
    also specify the drawer where your up/download files are
    so if you want to select a file in [BaudCalc] the requester
    will automatically go to that drawer. [?] pops up a req.
    Clicking on [Print Config] make that I.D.Baud prints out
    your configuration.
    You can use [Load/Save Config] to save the config anywhere
    you want, but on startup only the configfile in s: will be
    loaded.
    Clicking on [Quit Back] will return you to the main menu.

[About]
    Clicking on [Hey, (001] will return you to the main menu.

[Quit]
    Self-explanatory, I guess.. I.D.Baud will ask for verifi-
    cation though..

No special requirements.
 
Requirements

Yes, again (as with my IBM fonties) you need an Amiga.. But then
again, nobody should be without one B-)..
That's about it really..
Only tested with Workbench 3.0 on my A1200.. (CHIP/FAST)
I.D.Baud is as of this version WB 2 and up!

Changed the highlight colour on the workbench version.
Gadgets look okay now.. Oh, yeah, actually, there's only one version
now, which let's you choose between an own screen or a WB version..
There are some cosmetic changes, some bug fixes and some additions..
A major addition as the facility to enter ANY baudrate you like..
So if you have a 12456 baud modem, no problem!

VERY minor update.. Fixed the baudcheck problem with the ==> arrow.
Added VFast and V32 Terbo to the list..

Version 1.3

There... Finally, I've got the load and save routines all right..
I redesigned a couple of things (cosmetical changes) and I added
extra features to the Configuration window.
Incorporated sound for extra fun.. I could've included lots of
samples, but since the soud is actually not of any real use, I
didn't do that..
Also did some MagicWB-style colour things.. I suggest you get MagicWB
straight away..

A COMPLETE re-write now with GadTools, so everything works better.
Added requesters, a printing function and more. Removed the sound
and the 8 colour brushes used in 1.3 because the extra fuss was not
really worth it. No more messing with the "data" drawer. Removed
the function of a separate screen, coz it was pretty useless.
Filesize has shrunk!
99664=====>89608 bytes!
1.4GT simply means 1.4GadTools..

What's in store for the future?

· If there are any more "V-Expressions" or whatever, there's still room
  for them (as you might have noticed..).. Please send some!
· I will try to make sure that you can open ALL windows at once..

Why not do it now? Heck, there wouldn't be anything left for updates!

However, you are not allowed to leave out any files from
the archive all situated in the I.D.Baud drawer..
Also, you are not allowed to manipulate this font, or
put your own name under it.. I will regularly check it out.

If you like, you can send me money for this, but since it's
not a very big programming-effort of mine (well), I wouldn't
be surprised to not receive anything at all.. You can tell me
(through the BBS) if you want to donate something...
Of course, when you send me something (ie. something nice and
of more value than a rabbit's intestines :-) then I might send
you some future updates of my font-activities..

By the way, thanks to Martin Huttenloher from whom I've used
a few MagicWB icons.. They just look too good to be true...
