    @{b}Tabd@{ub} is a controlling daemon for the @{i}Calcomp 2200@{ui} graphic tablet.

    The chance of another Amiga user owning this tablet is extremely small, expecially
    since this tablet is 10 years old, and the only reason I have one is because I
    prevented Barco (my employer) from throwing it onto a trash-container.

    But just in case anyone stumbles on another of these, I'll save him/her from writing
    the driver software.

    The daemon is a commodity, and can be controlled by the Commodities Exchange program.
    The Enabled/Disabled switch in Exchange controls the generation of movement events.
    Tabd can be killed by signalling it to unload from Exchange, by sending it a Ctrl-C
    or Ctrl-D break signal, or by starting it a 2nd time.

·   @{b}The Calcomp tablet@{ub}

    Using the "setup" menu on the tablet, configure it as follows:

    »   Default mode : RUN
    »   Framing : 8 databits, no parity
    »   Baud rate : 1200 baud
    »   Format : binary
    »   Data rate : Try for yourself. Suggestion 20 or 40 pixels/sec.
    »   Resolution : Metric. Inches should be abolished¹ :-)

    The baud rate is set to 1200 baud for a purpose: the mouse emulation mode of the tablet
    automatically (unwantedly) switches to 1200 baud,8 data,no parity. In order to be able to
    autodetect mouse/tablet mode switches the tablet mode must share this setting. Perhaps I can
    find a way to avoid this if anyone out there requests it.

¹ Actually, this is not a joke. A certain constant is used in internal computations,
  which is only valid for the metric setting.

    Currently, the mouse emulation mode does not succeed in generating a mouse button press.
    I am examining this.

    The tablet mode, however, is fully functional. Any problems (blankers not unblanking
    after a tablet mouse-move, a button click not being registered in your favourite
    software, ...) is fully caused by arrogant assumptions on the part of that software.
