SearchIndex ----------- A small, portable program that I really just wrote for my own use but decided that I might as well send up. It searches Indexes that you have downloaded from various sites for keywords. E.G: Searchindex DH1:Index 3d DH1:3d ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The Command The Name of the Keyword Optional. Allows any Index to search to search output to be written and it's path. for to a file for later viewing. Basically you invoke the command followed by the name of the index and it's whereabouts. It fits neatly in aother shell window above the one you're using for FTP'ing. This means once you've logged into a site and provided you have it's index somewhere you can just click on the shell window above and find what you want. It takes up very little memory and very little disk space, so why not put it in your C: directory. If you are searching for a keyword that is very common or just want to break indexes down into the parts you're interested in then you can add another, optional parameter that saves any output to a file of your choice. This is useful when searching, say: Aminet for the Keyword of 3d. The program would search the aminet index for the keyword 3d and, obvoiously, would come up with so many the lists would fill the screen. A log file helps an easier search. If you like it that much you can send me a million pounds sterling, ta. Chris, chris@jasper.dungeon.com, IRC: Bill_Door
